Hey Bigi...

I used to play with my weapon visible, but sometimes it would get in the way of the keyboard....now I strap it to my leg...

I only see those black bars while playing UT. Should I be tweaking something under preferences to get the full 20" screen? Other games I play do not do this. Neither do any other programs I run, including windoze.

Ooops I lied. TR and Quake II give those same black bars. Do I need to upgrade the monitor drivers?

17" ViewSonic at 800x600. I also use the most recent OpenGL driver posted elsewhere on this forum. Works great.

Question on hiding the weapon (not necessarily for Redeemer servers)... Will I be able to shoot sooner after switching weapons? I figure that without having the weapon on screen I wouldn't have that weapon switching lag.

And Maximus... I think I'm having a serious Monitor Envy moment now.

I like to play with out the weapon in view but I switch back and forth to the translocator that I need to see it well to make the decision to shoot when I need to or teleport. It was too hard to tell without it in view thus I blew my self to bits so much that I put it back on.

Ditto what Herm said. Same thing happened to me, so I have the weapon view on.

Thanks on the invisible weapon comments, guys. I tried but now I'm displaying my weapon again. I fragged myself so many times because my switching didn't take on the first try.

This weekend I actually got so confused that I accidentally telefragged Herm while aiming for the ledge above.

Very funny!!

"Herm". I love being called that and am considering changing my name because it's so much easier for everyone. Change is hard though and I'm not even old yet. Yet! lol

On my desktop system I use 800x600x32bit; I have used 1024x768 in the past, but with my crusty old GeForce2 MX-400 my framerates get hosed when an explosion occurs. When I play on the server, I use 400x300 or 512x384, because of its older and crustier(TNT2 16MB) video card.
