just a little info for you ntl says that it cant do better then 1mb for home use after that its buisness class were did you see/hear it was going to 2mb and seing how ntl are trying to force telewest into a merger or as they say take over telewest they aint the same company yet

WEll the first thing that made me think was on the telewest web site you can check for availability, if you aren't in a a telewest area it gives you a link to ntl. NO company ads another for no reason.

So when I was booking my connection with ntl I ask if they was the same company and she said yes they are part of the same company.

Also she asked if I would like to upgrade to the 2mb in a few week when it is made available.

and there bandwidths on the cable connection are identical

if your talking about telewest yes they are doing 2mb but ntl has not said anything about going above 1mb been planty of complaints about them not doing better as for them being 2 seperate companies no argument just thats whats roumored to be happening maybe 2 parts of the same company just making a lot of noise about joining forces i just looked at the site and nothing there to say there going to 1 mb and nothing in the post with or without our bills :? :? :roll:

didn't mean to imply you were making it up just that theres been loads of peeps saying they are going to be releasing above 1 mb connection and its still coming, i would like to see them increase the upload to a better amount and leave the download speed as it is and checking on another site theres yet another rumor that there going to release 2 and 3 mb connections just b4 and after xmas but i think its just another rumor but heres hoping they do :razz: :twisted:

Actually, I'd like to live up in Yorkshire, or somewhere near Chatsworth. I visited there one time, lovely area of the country. I stayed in Mansfield as well. Nice town, but there did not seem to be a lot of job opportunities. Then again, this was 15 years ago.

Sigh... Now I want to vacation in England again... :D

yeah mansfield is part of derbyshire, my gf is at uni there, and one of my friends is a DJ for the main night club.
