nameless, you know what bonary number r?

Well

0 = 0
0000 = 0

1 =1
10 = 2
11 = 3
100 = 4
101 = 5
110 = 6
111 = 7
1000 = 8

Well if this was th acse for how computer stoerd information, ther would be noe binary code to code for a letter, becasue it would be a number, but as all numbers a made from the same units, ie 69 = 6 and a 9. So you code for them as they r this mean we only need 10 code for the numbers.

ascii (americal standard Code for Information Interchange)
Which is either 7 or 8 bit incoded,

SO, in 8 bit ;
00000001 = some letter
00000010 = another letter
And so on, there is enought roomm for all the symbols on the keyboard, well I think there is,
2^8 = god knows,

Hope this helps,
There is hexicecimal and octave which is just binary numbers chopped up to read better.

Joke for ya:
There is 10 kinda of ppl in this world that understaned binary,

Those who know it and them that don't.

Looks like some of you are a bit confused. This thread came to being because jsatan posted a string of zeros and ones in another thread and said that it means something. The initial post in this thread shows how that puzzle is solved. His string of zeros and ones is near the top, and the solution runs vertically at the right side.

As for the second puzzle, it is definitely more difficult than the first one. I see that the domain of this set consists of numbers and the letters in caps. What this means is that a simple shift in the ASCII character set will not solve this puzzle. There is the possibility that this is the result of shifting your fingers on the keyboard while you enter the hidden message. It also may be the case that there is no space between the words in this message. So far, I feel that this is 8-bit ASCII, 64 characters, and that the line breaks in the string of zeros and ones are not significant. The string does not appear to be in reverse order or flipped in any way. Octal and hexadecimal do not seem to be involved. It appears to be straight binary to characters, and the characters mean something. One to one mapping from the coded characters to the real message is still possible, though it may be that multiple coded characters represent the same character in the real message. I hope that is not the case.

jsatan, like you did with the first puzzle (by saying that it is ASCII), how about giving a hint for the second puzzle?

Thanks,

Y

Think about what the is different between "1" and "0".

Not numerical.

Heres another for ya, it isnt like the first one,,

"110001101011101110110010101010011011000"

This is not the ASCII code
This codes for the ASCII code.
The ascii that this codes for starts with a "0" this must be known to solve.

Just been thinking about his and there is a million and one ways to mess with binary numbers, even with one transition it could be anything.

For example.

MY ASCII code is "0110100001101001"

Just think you could:
invert it.
flip it.
phase it.
differentiate it.

if you had 2 transition it could be done again whih any again. but I haven't gone that far.

Well, I already know that the meaning of life is 42

It's up to you guys to use this ascii stuff to prove it. :razz:

It's a book series Mah. Live the universe and everything = 42. It's part of a series. There is another book called Restuarant at the end of the universe and another book too I think. If you read the series, you'd get it. Someone chime in.

Thanks for the fish.
