Yuzuriha is a very genki and optimistic young girl. She is the youngest member of the DoH but still very important. Almost everyone is protective of her but she can cheer anybody's day off and is so far, the only person who has not been injured while teasing Kamui about his height during his "bratty" days. ^^
From Yuzuriha's very first appearance, Yuzuriha continues to make a lasting impression on everyone. She takes life lightly and it takes a lot to make her feel down. When everyone first meets Yuzuriha, they are immediately surprised to see that such a young and happy person could be a DoH. Sorata likes her almost right away and when she sees Kamui, she quickly comments on how short Kamui is. ^^ (But in an attempt to make Kamui feel better, she offers him some Pocky. ^^)
Yuzuriha is from the Mitsumine Shrine who have wolves or dogs as servant spirits. Mitsumine is a combination of Buddhism and Shintoism. The dog spirits are called Inugami and they are used to defeat demons. Yuzuriha has her own Inugami, which is called Inuki. Inuki can transform into any shape that Yuzuriha wants but for the most part, it will transform into a sword.
However, despite all of Yuzuriha's genkiness, Yuzuriha had a sad childhood. This was because no one could see Inuki. It was only people with powers that can see Inuki. Now Yuzuriha is very happy because of all her friends in the DOH who can see him. Also, it might be noted here, that when Yuzuriha was very young, she said that the she might fall in love with the person who is able to see Inuki. This turns out to be Kusanagi, who is a DoE but a sweetie nonetheless. ^^ This is the reason why Yuzuriha has a crush on Kusanagi (and he's a nice guy). In fact, I wouldn't quite call it a crush. ^^ I'm pretty sure that Yuzuriha (almost) loves Kusanagi. (The only thing that's stopping me is that Yuzuriha is young and might not know what love is. ^^) Unfortunately, it is unrequited love but they do care for each other deeply. Yuzuriha does not know that Kusanagi is a DoE but Kusanagi does know Yuzuriha is a DoH.
Recently, however, Yuzuriha was devastated due to the sudden death of Inuki who died protecting her. She cried a lot but for Inuki, she decided to live on. Unfortunately, without Inuki, Yuzuriha doesn't have a good chance of defending herself against a DoE. When she encounters Fuuma, she immediately puts up a kekkai to protect the area but this leads Fuuma straight to her. Yuzuriha narrowly escapes death and it is only when Kamui comes to protect her. Though, Kamui appears to be winning at first, Fuuma eventually gets the upper hand and while Yuzuriha is watching this, she feels absolutely helpless. It is here, she makes a wish, a wish to have the power to protect herself and others. After making this wish, a light comes out of her chest and knocks Fuuma over. The light then turned into a puppy inugami (either a new one or reincarnated, I'm not sure).
Before I say anything, I'd like to say one thing...Chibi-Inuki is SOOO kawaii!! By the way, this inugami will be referred to Chibi-Inuki. He really likes Kamui and he's done a lot of cute things. Though it sounds bad, Chibi-Inuki bit onto Sorata's hand because Sorata was teasing him. It was a very funny moment. ^^
Yuzuriha now lives with Kamui, Sorata and Arashi and attends the CLAMP school.
