Just upgraded to XP. I'm not sure if this will do anything for UT, but it's sure going to help with my video editing!

The Company I work for just took a wicked hit from a virus as well as numerous other companies here in jersey. Enjoy Your Microsoft product and be sure to stop by the microsofts update site when you get a chance.

LOL, One of the folks at work is being BOMBED by all kinds of spam, most;y from porn sites. So far, he has 500 spam messages, with more coming in. It is being attributed to a virus on someone elses computer.

Enjoy Windows XP!

LOL thanks for the encourageing words all  LOL
The college where the wife works got hit with the virus. So far ( knock on wood ) I've never been hit by one. Could be because I never read mail unless I know who it came from and the subject line makes some kind of sence to me

P.S. Jarg! I got your mail. No problem at all old buddy :D

I am hosting email for a couple of companies and one of them gets over 1000 pieces of spam/day!

I am using Spamassassin on the server level as well as well as Relay Blacklists. Otherwise it would be worse.

Before Spamassassin started tagging the messages as spam it took them 2 hours in the morning to weed out the good from the bad.

Talk about how automation can save money :-)

I use blacklists on our email server too. That gets some of them. Haven't been bit by any or these worms or viruses. We use At Guard from WRQ as a personal firewall on every machine. It stops everything you don't specifically grant access to (in or out). Several of the latest viruses use flaws in Microsoft programs listening to the IP ports to get in and set up shop. Unfortunately At Guard was sold to another company. Symantec I think. They took some of the technology but broke it up into multiple products so they can stick it to you more.

So, any of you remember way back when (4 or 5 years) when spam was illegal and we didn't get any. It use to be treated just like unsolicited faxes. Then our nice congress stepped to help us out. What a fantastic job they do for us. Maybe we should make their salary dependant on performance and they can't leave office until they break even. Institute charge backs like the NFL does for their players. Screw up and they get fined.
