Why am I suddenly unable to connect to Curious George's Redeemer Insanity? Is there scheduled maintenance or summat?

I'm working on the problem now. I can't even connect to it. Sheeesh! Must be that Trojan I got from Schwantz! LOL Just kidding. I'll get the server running soon. Sorry about that.

Baldrick,

CG should now be playable. I changed some settings last night and never checked to make sure they didn't effect the server in a bad way. My bad. I can connect now and I think you should have no problems now. Be sure to check out the Map Packs link on the home page at www.RedeemerInsanity.com . Following the instructions for getting all of the maps and such could save you a lot of downloading time later. Let us know how it goes and as always, thanks for the heads-up on the problem with the server.

I'm guessing it's down again. Checked the regular DM list and couldn't find it. Herm, put the pipe down and step away from the server.

Good one Maximus. It is down right now. I'm moving CG and HOH to a different box. I should be down for a few days since I'm going to do it nice and slow so I get it right the 4th time instead of the 18th. Something of interest will be that CG is going back to default maps and Bonus pack maps only. I suspect that you will want to go to NWRO for new stuff to play on. I'm going to rededicate CG to the newbies and the high percentage first try connection method.

Herm, we love playing with and recruiting newbs. Bo's is great for the new maps, but can only handle 8 players. That is the great thing about CG -- it can take 12 (I still think you shd pump it up to 16!!!). I think the fastdownloads bring in plenty of people.

Don't segregate us!!!

Kill HoH and pump CG up to 20 people, lol. Threw a few more good maps on, and voila -- perfection!

Sounds good Herm. I like the idea of CG going back to it's roots so to speak. Thats what CG was all about. The Newbs and the default maps.
have to disagree with ya on the number of players though Mah. I find my pings are much higher on CG & HOH then on NWRO. I think the number of players directly affects this. My pings on NWRO are around 80 or 90 with an occasional spike over 100. CG is mid 200's with spikes in the mid to high 300's for me. Don't get me wrong I love lots of players and lots of mayhem but i'd rather not have a ping in the 200 to 300 range. Could all be location though I guess. I believe I'm closer to Bo then Herm.

Max

I think your ping is probably always better on NWRO, no matter what the player count is. There are a few who see better pings on Bo's. I am not one of them, however.

The number of players does have an effect, but I think the chaos is worth it. Having 16 people on Fractal is the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life. It is guaranteed laughs!!!

Anyhow, the point is that a lot of the regulars like to play with new people no matter which server, and that segregation is not the answer!

Keep hope alive!

I agree with anything that forces you to play with a higher ping then I have Mah. Any edge Ican get is welcome. :D

Sorry Mah, I'm not trying to segregate, I'm trying to populate. i understand the ping arguement and I think everyone is right. I do think it has to do with the amount of players and your location in relation to the server and which isp you use. I fell of the wagon about CG's original purpose a while back and would like to make that normal again. I will offer HOH as a slightly better version of the last CG except it will have multifile maps and skins and such like before. The ping shouldn't be any different considering they will both be on the same machine. I think that covers it. I hope to put the new and lamer version of CG back up today. HOH will take a while. Thanks for trying to understand and for your continued support!
