Hello all how are you all doing?
Well i have a problem :( my UT is leggy as hell. but my connec. is good so its not that. its leggy wen i play of line too.
the hole thing started wen i was playing the game in the middle of the map it was getting leggy. can it be my graficke card? its old and bad i think.
i have a memory 256 and of that i have 66% free after i start my internet connec. and the norton antivirus. (norton is taking 10%)
i have reeinsald UT and my driver to the card(cant fine enny update on the net)
can it be that the card? (ati rage 128 magnum sg agp) is gone to hell? it worked fine before.

Well i hope anyone can help me. i em trying to get the money fore a new comp. but that can take some time and i wont too play :evil:

Sounds like it's a framerate drop to me. Have you installed any new programs on your computer? And does it effect other games?
Have you installed a new version of Direct X?

Do you have anti virus on your computer?My get lagg when it does full system scan.

Might try going and buying a new card, install it and see if works right. If it don't, take the card back.

Does this problem occur with any other games. If not, try reinstall UT. If not, it could be many things. May be video card or may also be a problem with your memory. You may have also inadvertantly download a program this sucking up memory.

For the memory, you may have a bad stick. You may try taking out all of your memory, then trying one stick at a time, boot up and see if it still does it.
Check the internet for driver updates for your Video Card. Have your tried playing any large video files...doe the problem occur when you play full scrren video?
What OS you running. If it is windows, check the windows update site and see if they have any driver downloads for you. Recommend backing up your current system state before installing new drivers...they sometimes make more porblems than they solve.
Are you running current version of DirectX?
You could test your DirectX. For windows, goto start menu, click run, type 'dxdiag', click the display tab. Use the three tests buttons to test your video. Do they pass. If they fail, it is probably a driver problem of some sort.

Did you put in a new firewall? I tried McAfee's firewall on my old computer, and it sucked up all the resources and virtually shut it down. I went to Zone Alarm, and all was well again. Then I upgraded Zone Alarm from version 2.85 to 3.1x, and I lost resources again. It took me a long time to figure out what it was that had gone wrong with my game. :doubt:

It sure sounds like something is now using up a lot of your system resources. If you've upgraded Zone Alarm recently, or added a new program, that could be it. :?

Very impressive list of troubleshooting folks especially yours Bigi. This is the stuff that good forums are made of. The mCaffeee virus scan is almost as evil as AOL itself. If you have it, get rid of it. Ever since the 4.03 engine they have sucked bad. Do all of the test and stuff and tell us what happened. I can tell you for sure that if your vid card worked before and now it doesn't, the chance of the problem being the vid card is very slim. Something changed. What?

i tray working on it later on. but i run the directx tests

Direct 3D 7 test results: all test were successful
Direct 3D 8 test results: all test were successful
Direct 3D 9 test results: display driver does not support api (ddi verson to low)

I cant fine a newer driver to my card.
i have a direct x 9 running.
and i have norton antivirus and firewall had this one from the start never had enny trouble whid it.'

well i have uninstall some programs i have dowloade
and i have set all my settings in the game to a minimum. so now the deatils are werry bad but the game workes preety good.

i wont batter you all no more so i leave it fore now. if i cant get my self a new comp. soon i will come back fore more help.

here is the link to the arena match mod that most of the guys use to run a server with !!...just go here and get it ......it will allow you to run anykind of arena that you want ...including Translocater only!!! :D

on the top of the ut browser you should see the arena mod ,click on it to bring it down and you want to use "botpack missle launcher " if I"m not mistaken ...and you can use the translocator along with it , under " other items or weapons"....
