I should have the bots turned down enuff now so they don't just walk away from ya. Had them turned up a bit for the redeemer stuff and 1 of bots turned up on uber super godlike difficulty and he was winning most of the maps. So that little tid bit should be under control now.

The upgrade last night didn't go like I had hoped it would. Spent about 3 hours after work trying and fiddling with it and could never get it to sit, roll over but it nailed the play dead every time (think there might be a problem with the mobo). Gonna mess with it more possibly some time after work and see if I can get it working.

Another thing is the map set. Most of the stock maps are terrible on sniper stuff so a change is in order. Dark City is all the sudden alot more fun for some reason LOL. I cached all the maps that I got from the Brutality server on my player machine so what I may do is try and find some of the best ones from there and see about downloading the orginals from somewhere to use. Death and Nameless would prob. agree with me on this statement that BrutalBri had some very interesting maps for sniper stuff and I could only recall about 3 or 4 that he had in his rotation that stunk. This will not be and immediate change.......within the next week or so. If I do this I will post where I got the maps from and names of each. Hopefully I will have redirects WORKING by the time I figure this out.

As stuff happens I will post it in here. Glad everybody is enjoying this.

Is there a way to reduce the amount of ammo a player starts with? I would suggest 50 rounds if so. The reason is this: I have found places in some of the maps where you just need to aim at a busy spawn point and continuously fire. You'll rack up the kills monster fast. While it can be funny as hell to hear "HEAD SHOT" time after time when you're alone in the arena, in an actual game with other players this behavior could be seen as the worst form of camping. By forcing the players to move around the map for more ammo, this rather unsportsman like behaviour can be curbed.

To answer the nameless question: That would be a no. Haven't found a way to tweak the ammo at all.

The server has been updated and has a whole new set of maps aimed more towards the sniper stuff. There are no stock maps on the server but I have the redirects set up (with alittle help from Bo) to spit them out at a really fast speed. The redirects should fly compared to the way they use to be.

Now that I have this running its gonna take some testing to make sure all the bugs are out. If anybody has trouble getting on the server, server not sending files or just problems in general please let me know so I can fix them.

As of now there are only 19 maps total on the server. I will be adding and hopefully have a group of about 30-35 maps total. My goal is to have this complete by Wednesday at the latest. After I get a complete list going I will post a list of maps and where you can download them.

Like I said before......questions....comments......problems.....good or bad please let me know.

Just a FYI......the weather was bad down in my neck of the woods last night and we have been having some power outages. Woke up this morning around 10:30 ( 1 1/2 hours late for work) and had to make a flying dash to work since the alarm clock never went off. Was able to get the server restarted before I left but it is back down once again (thinking the power went out once again - thanks BH for the heads up). Every time the power blips at my house the server machine cuts completely off and doesn't reboot on its own. I'm stuck at work till later when I can take a look and see if it was actually the power thing or something else that might have caused it.

Should have it back up and running around 6 p.m. CST.

Just in case y'all didn't catch it from the "Help" post I did a fresh install of UT with only the 436 patch and everything on the server is working correctly so far.

Next order of business is to find some more maps. If anybody has any good ideas please let me know and I'll take a look into it.

P.S. After I get this server all squared away I will post a map list and then calm down about it........considering this is a REDEEMER forum and all LOL.

After I read what I wrote I wasn't very specific on what got the fresh install. It was my player machine and not the server itself.

Well last night I started doing a fresh install for the server. Just wanted to make sure I haven't messed the files up too much flipping back and forth between redeemer and sniper so I started a new one last night. I am not running this installation of it yet due to the fact I have not finished it yet but the one that has been running as of late is still going until I get the fresh install all panned out.

Found some more maps that will go pretty good on the server.....will post the new ones as soon as I got live with the new one.

It should have sent ya that file fine with no problems. The redirect webspace has acted up a couple of times since I started using it. I can think of at least 3 times so far that it has acted a bit funny. Working on that little problem now and will let everybody know when I get it completely taken care of.

LOL, See how fun being an admin is! Hang in there Kid, you'll have it perfect like Bo's in a week I'm sure. Beware of changes to servers. They are usually bad unless you test the crap out of them before you put the change into production. Good luck and keep it up!
