Does anyone out there now an easy means of spliting MPG files? You know a way without recodeing the entire S.O.B..

I want to burn some VCD's. Unfortunatly my Sony is very picky it only plays the home burnt junk when throwen down on CDRW's. My guess is the technology at the time dictated the CDR's where the threat not the expensive CDRW's. But CDRW's are getting pricy again. I suppose they don't manufacture as many since CDR's are so damn cheap. Another misfortune is that the CDRW's I have on hand are 700MB. The better quality down loads for movies excede 700MB. That probably wouldn't be a problem if my burner were capable of "overburn", but it's not.

I have about 100 CDRW's left. When there gone I my might buy a less tempramental DVD player. Saw one at FRY's electronics today under $40.00. Another answer would be a new burner with "over burn" capabilites. Then I could take advantage of these 90 minute CDR's setting on the floor.

Nuff said, Pirate Skank

Hey buddy...I believe that you would be looking for VirtualDub, A nice open-source video editing package. I have used this before to split a 1.1GB movie in to 5 scenes to be put on disk, it should work for you.

Hey Fluffy

I know they aren't cheap, but maybe you should get a DVD burner. I got one 3 years ago ( Pioneer A03 ) and love it. I've put all our Disney World home movies on DVD with indexes. It's great to be able to go right to the track you want to see. And with blank 2 sided DVDs going for about $3.00 each, it's even cost effective now 8-)
