Our very own Pimp changed his named to "YoUrPoNcE."<br><br>I told him his name might not be an "upgrade" -- recalling the times I spent in England and the way I heard "ponce" used. He replied that two English buddies of his told him that the word means "pimp." <br><br>I looked it up in the OED, and indeed it does have 2 meanings:<br><br>ponce /pns/ n. slang. L19. [Perh. f. POUNCE v.3] <br>1 A person who lives off a prostitute's earnings; a pimp. L19.<br>2 A male homosexual; a lazy or effeminate man. M20.<br><br><br>In current idiomatic usage, I believe meaning #2 is dominant.
