Duh! I finally figured out how to put files on my web server and be able to have them downloaded to anyone. I just haven't had time to learn this sdstuff on my own so it's taking forever. What do you think about this? I am going to go through all of the maps and remove the ones that have more than one file. Then I'm going to make a zip file with all of the remaining maps and give a link to it so all you do is click on the link and it will download all of my maps on the server in one try. All you would have to do is unzip them and copy them into your map folder! Done! So? What do you think? I can set the message of the day to point to the link so even 56kers have a good chance. I timed the download and on my system, from the web server, the lowest speed the download reached was 228kb/sec and it starts at around 700kb/sec!!! That rocks. I think 56k is what, about 32 times slower than that?<br><br>Hermskii <p></p><i></i>

Any help is greatly appreciated by me. Even with fast downloads, it can be frustrating to try and download a map just to have the folks playing complete the map, and I still have not finished downloading it. Before I went DSL and got all the maps I had the same problem. I know exactly what you mean as far as not getting in when certain players are in. I know of one in particular whose screen name starts with "M" and ends with an "A". Have heart though Jarg. Even if you are getting in late from downloads you can come back. Deadman Walking has proven this to us time and time again. He's still fragging on 56k as well I believe. <br> Hey Herm it sounds like a great idea in theory but won't that be one hell of a download. If he doesn't have DSL or cable, he might think twice about clicking the link, but if he does and wants to have everything -- Boom! Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! It would be easier to get them all instead of converting the cache. Also, if you are interested (and you don't already have them), I have about a gig of downloaded maps from everywhere. Actually nabbed a couple from another clan that might look good for the redeemer.
