Mah he did say fix or wipe in the first post so I figured I would go straight for the kill. I believe only XP and 2000 will let you uninstall stuff like IE service packs and updates. Don't remeber 98 ever letting you uninstall stuff like that.<br><br>So, was I right in my 12 steps or did I totally get everything wrong???? just a quick reply to kidcapri you can with 98 dont know about 98se i got mine 2 weeks before they relesed 98se and last year d/l update for graphics card which distroyed windows and had to reload everything only way i found was to wipe drive like you said but then reinstall from cd without using bootdisc but was that messed up at time not sure how i managed it can remember i had to get into bios and change things in there first tho <br> dark <p></p><i></i>

Hmmmm interesting Darkmatter.....NEW FACE! Never seen ya around here before so gots to say welcome to the gang. I have never had any luck with 98 booting from the CD rom no matter what device I had as the first boot. So basically I always went with the bootdisk method to take care of it.
