well, clemmentine couldn't wait any longer.. I've gone ahead and wrote a simple redeemer arena mod for ut2003.

I started out modifying the behavior of the guided redeemer, then integrated with the Radiation Poisoning mod, so now we have a redeemer arena mod that I'm tweaking to get it right. this is where you come in. please post here the top TWO things you like to see changed for the ut2003 redeemer. I'll try my best at making that happen. be sure to give as much detail as you can.

another thing, what should we call this mod? I have ran out of creative juices and cannot come up with a name for this new mod. post what you would like to call the ut2003 redeemer arena mod here and we'll have a vote later on.

if you prefer not to post here, you can send me email. my email address is in my ezBoard profile (just click on 'clemmentine' to the left of this post). be fore-warned, however, I don't check my email everyday, so I may not get back to you right away..

I think play testing will be important for this mod since ut2003 is quite a departure from classic ut. when we think the mod is ready for that, then we'll need to gather some play testers (that's you!) and run some tests online. I'll see if I can get my friend Crusher to run this on his server. of course, any of you server admins out there are welcomed to run it when that time comes.

thanks everyone

- clemmentine

____________________________________________________________
... To the depths of the ocean where all hopes sank, searching for you,
I was moving through the silence without motion, waiting for you,
In a room with a window in the corner I found truth.

"Shadowplay" by Joy Division

My two biggest issues:

1.) The missiles need better steering.

2.) The explosion consist of two parts I think. The initial explosion and then the grand wazoo explosion. The explosion radius of the grand wazoo explosion is pointless. The toatal radius should never exceed half of the current maximum it displays. The damage radius is already perfect. It's strictly the appearance of the explosion that's too big. I think the initial explosion is more than enough.

Hermskii

IMHO, these things (redeemers) are just too fast in 2k3. If possible, could you slow them down.

The Jargonaut

AWESOME CLEM!!!!

I think you ought to give yourself the credit when you name the mod -- so, something like "Clem's Redeemer Mod" or "InClement Radiation Mod."

Herm is totally right about the grand wazoo flash. You just know it is eating up video card power and slowing down the game. Totally unnecessary.

Also, there seems to be a 2 second delay between each firing of the missile. Any way to make it an automatic weapon?

Go Clem Go!!!!

Mahatma

Here's another one: "Total Inclemency" or "Unreal Inclemency: Radiation Poisoning"

better steering -
I'd say this is top priority. I've already found the multiplier that affects the responsiveness of the guided missile. just for fun, I tried upping it so high that even a slight twitch of your hand will make the deemer turn in a completely different direction.

no secondary explosion / half of current max -
humm.. really? I kind of liked the explosion.. it looks so pretty.. but if it's interfering with gameplay, I'll see if I can tone it down a bit.

reduce speed -
this should help with better steering. but this may cause a problem where normal players can outrun the redeemer rocket.

rapid fire -
what can I say? spreaders don't want to play with one arm tied to their backs..

skinnier missile by half -
this may be tricky.. will probably require using a different texture/graphic and maybe reducing the hit box.

I'd prefer a name that's original. "Clem's Redeemer Mod" is just too plain. if "clemmentine" is mentioned at all, it should be just once in the description and no where else.

- clemmentine

____________________________________________________________
...
