Okay, I purchased Unreal II, The Awakening today. I hope to give a Jarg Review of the game before too long. One thing that I can say for the game is that, so far, it is graphically impressive. Gameplaywise, it kind of reminds me of Halo for the X-Box, and that ain't a bad thing. I'll let you know if it bogs down my P-4 1.5 during some intense firefights.
The Jargonaut

now of course you should probably make backup copies of the game, and, as a precaution, send one to Canada, Berkeley, Texas, and Virginia. That way if your roof blows off again, you will have a burn of your game, lol!

M

I've been price shopping up here. UT2k3 has gone down 5 bucks, but it's still $60! Ureal II is going for $65. Too much! 30 bucks, ok, but not 60.

Yep, it did bog down my system. BIGTIME! I'm talking like the ground level of Crane when you are firing with everything ya got. But I do like the game. I guess that I just don't have the horsepower to run it. Keep in mind that I had everything maxed out, and I run games at a pretty high resolution. Sigh... I guess that I will have to get a new system
The Jargonaut

How good is the story line and game play this time? Unreal 1 started out so well, but it just dragged on forever, level after level after boring level. And then after killing the alien queen, the guy doesn't even get home.
If I hadn't decided to look at "botmatch" in that game before I uninstalled it; I never would have ended up here.

On 2/9/03 8:08:27 pm, a nameless entity asked:

Quote:
How good is the story line and game play this time?

Nothing groundbreaking on the storyline. Actually, it's pretty run of the mill FPS stuff. Those graphics are the star of this show. Don't get me wrong, the story ain't bad so far (I've beat 5 levels or so), I've just seen it before. Like i said before, It reminds me of Halo for the X-Box. If you ever get a chance to play that one, then do it. It's an awesome game. U2 also reminds me of Alien vs Preditor 2. The graphics are awesome, but I have to play at 800x600 to get acceptable framerates. I need Trigons overclocked system to play this right. If you have anything less that a gig processor, be prepared to play this with everything on the lowest setting.
One other thing. Aida, the female character in this game, is quite possibly the most incredible use of pixels ever in a videogame. Good Golly Miss Molly!!!
The Jargonaut
