OK. guys, here it is ... DeadSun was nice enough last year to send me his UT99 Missile Madness files. I finally did it and put it up on my staging server. This is not the final product, but please give it a try. It's DeathMatch right now, but will turn into a CTF (as MissileMadness was) with the rocket ships and everything.

This is my first shot at running a UT server and I might need some help from the gurus.

It's listed under DeathMatch as:

RedeemerInsanity - Son of Missile Madness

or IP address
66.218.46.61 port 7777
Please give it a try and let me know how it goes.

On my way! :bounce:

Ok, my first quick impression:

It ran ok at first as a redeemer arena, but then I got some bad lag and my gun disappeared from my hands. I could still shoot rockets, but not guide them, because I could not see them in flight. Neither did I see any blast effect, but it was there because I could kill and suicide ok.
A quick reconnect fixed things for a few moments, but then the rockets I fired and their blast effect became invisible again. :colors:

Thanks for the feedback. Hmmm, let me check the log files.

N6NU, ithink you should go to www.herskii.com and download and print the how to manual. There is a link to it on the home page. In it you will see that I listed all of the ports that I used and suggestions for alternate ports to avoid certain DOS based attacks that attack on the default port of 7777. To answer your question from the other thread about what ports, here is my rule on it that I use and this is straight from the manual itself. By the way, this is just Chapter 6 of my manual:

Chapter 6

“Additional Considerationsâ€
