Funny you should mention that. I just read a review of this anti-trojan program called
Ewido at this
website. They liked the program. Be sure to read the last paragraph of the review, apparently Ewido has been improved so that it doesn't hog the cpu as much as before.
Both of these products have free versions. I wonder which is better?
Edit: Here's the page where the reviewers list the 5 products they like the best, with links to the full reviews:
The 5 best
Too bad that the one they liked the best,
Trojan Hunter has no free version. Only a 30 day trial period.
Edit #2: Why do I always do this sh!t late at night? I always end up staying up until 4 in the morning.
I decided to give Trojan Hunter its 30 day trial. So I went and got the program. I scanned the zipped file with Norton. All was well. I installed the program and used the auto updater as required by the installation process. Right after I did that Norton popped open a window to tell me that it had found and removed a trojan called
Backdoor.Graybird. Then I ran the program, and it found a possible trojan in my windows system32 folder called
NTREGOPT. I submitted the possible trojan to Mischel Internet Security, and told them about the Graybird trojan that Norton had found. I warned them that as their software was the only thing I had downloaded today, I probably got it from them. I'll let you know what develops.
Right now I'm off to Norton land to manually update my anti virus to their very latest definitions. Then I get to run yet another scan.
