The whole virgins in the after life thing always cracked me up. I've heard a range of different numbers concerning the amount of virgins you would be blessed with in the after life. Let's say your blessed with 30 virgins. Then let's say you intend to have sex with these virgins every other night. That means your only going to have sex for 2 months and then gotta go dry for the rest of eternity because you wanted virgins and now you don't have anymore (Perhaps the virginity thing needs to be explained to these folks). Of course your in heaven so you probably won't be having sex anyway because you will have broken the bonds of the physical form and have no need for physical contact. So what exactly is the point of the virgins. Wouldn't one be enough to spend eternity with. And does she have to be a virgin? I find it hard enough dealing with my wife at times let alone 30 womenfor the rest of eternity.

Of course trying to rationalize this with people who strap explosives to themselves and saw peoples heads off might not be worth my time.

Oh I see, they thought Virgins not Raisins. Boy are they ever gunna be disappointed.

Luxenberg tries to show that many obscurities of the Koran disappear if we read certain words as being Syriac and not Arabic. We cannot go into the technical details of his methodology but it allows Luxenberg, to the probable horror of all Muslim males dreaming of sexual bliss in the Muslim hereafter, to conjure away the wide-eyed houris promised to the faithful in suras XLIV.54; LII.20, LV.72, and LVI.22. Luxenberg 's new analysis, leaning on the Hymns of Ephrem the Syrian, yields "white raisins" of "crystal clarity" rather than doe-eyed, and ever willing virgins - the houris. Luxenberg claims that the context makes it clear that it is food and drink that is being offerred, and not unsullied maidens or houris.

In Syriac, the word hur is a feminine plural adjective meaning white, with the word "raisin" understood implicitly. Similarly, the immortal, pearl-like ephebes or youths of suras such as LXXVI.19 are really a misreading of a Syriac expression meaning chilled raisins (or drinks) that the just will have the pleasure of tasting in contrast to the boiling drinks promised the unfaithful and damned.

As Luxenberg's work has only recently been published we must await its scholarly assessment before we can pass any judgements. But if his analysis is correct then suicide bombers, or rather prospective martyrs, would do well to abandon their culture of death, and instead concentrate on getting laid 72 times in this world, unless of course they would really prefer chilled or white raisins, according to their taste, in the next.

So depending on where you'll be headed in the afterlife, you will either be served prune Juice or a cup of hot Joe for eternity. Blowing ones self up makes copmplete sense now. :evil4:

I saw accept it as a Holy War and from this point forward since they seem to care nothing about our lives or their own, we should then take up arms against their holy sites. Next bombing anywhere that is a terrorist action, we take out the Meca. Another bomb somewhere by terrorist, we take out that holy muslim site on top of the mountain in Israel. They strike again, we start taking out Mosks (That is where they are hiding anyways). No maybe this isn't the best solution at all but it does make you think that if they care so much about their damn crazy religion, maybe they will care about their religious sites. No spell check applied.

'Danm crazy religion', dont start getting touchy, or else ill start a thread about how fucking stupid christianity might be to me, i am muslim and i dont think of one fucking second what the therrorists did were right, they are scum, and just like Americans have scum, canadian have scum, and Even the U.K has its own criminal scum, doesnt mean that youc an think that all Muslims ar elike this, DArkmatter understand that why dont the rest of you, as well as the post about the holy crap religion and bomb the shit out of middle east, i disagree with you on that, because Middle-east isnt the only country that has Muslims, youd make a big mistake as Southeast Asia, meaning indonesia, some countries in Africa will reply to you.

Not Spell checked.

I find it quite interesting that your username is a race/society of people in the science fiction series Dune. Anyone who has read the Dune series knows how much religion is the key element. The story's central theme is that of a Holy War waged by a nomadic desert dwelling people. The parallels between this book and our world are uncanny. Are these books popular in the muslim world?

Utter not the name that brings death

Man not many thing make me happier than someone getting a really burnt ass. Thank you Paul, uh um I mean Tleilaxu. You know it's not about the religion don’t you? And come on, a holy war? More like an unholy war carried out by criminals under the guise of religion. But the truth be known they do hide amongst the religious. Unfortunately some of the religious is very aware of their presence and turn a blind eye to their criminal acts making them guilty at arms length. I have the utmost respect and welcome with open arms as my brother anyone (Muslim, Christian, Jew, atheist, etc.) that turns in one of those wannabe-murdering pieces of crap. If you noticed the acts of terrorism I'd posted they where not singled out to those committed by Muslims but by all peoples. I was surprised that the acts of genocide and barbarism committed by the Nazis, Stalin, Tojo, Idi Amin and the like were not listed at the site I grabbed the data from. I suppose some do not consider mass murder, torture and genocide "Terrorism". Any ways Paul, uh um I mean Tleilaxu next time your ass is burning please post again as I can always us the laugh.

Thank you :albino:

Perhaps if the muslim world made a consorted effort to eliminate islamic extremists then we wouldn't even be having this discussion nor would our boys have to be in harms way. Turning a blind eye to what extremists do puts all muslims in a bad light. Step up to the plate and fix the problem so that America doesn't have to.

And yes we do realize that muslims live in other parts of the world besides the middle east. We've already discussed the mess in Sudan. So let's discuss the island nation of Indonesia. Does anyone recall the Tsunami. Well it hit this nation of mostly muslims. And if you can believe it this nation actually had the balls to set a time limit for Americans to get out of their country. Setting a time limit for people who were trying to help. We should have packed up our aid and told them to go f@#% themselves.

Oh yeah and do you remember that earthquake that hit Iran. Over 5 million dollars to a country that has labeled us the great satan and not so much as a thank you.

These are the types of things that make folks like myself distrustful of the islamic world.

How many muslims can read English, think about that, and then think again, how many muslim terrorists would read this book, i bet im one of maybe 1000 muslims out of the millions that read this book, i think the book your referring to is the Quran.

I can't speak for the people of indonesia, and neither would i cause frankly i dont care, but i am from Iran and im not sure wether iran asked for help or not, but do you know the Story of Iran? and if you do not research it and what happened when the Shah took over, also you saying turning our backs away, well if you havent noticed we can just waltz into our Parliament building and go, hi, can you please send 10000 troops to kill the terrorists?. The governments are really fucking pieces of crap, in iran, and in any country, but that doesnt give Americans the right to say lets fix this, no one asked for your help, and no one wanted your help either, we're very well capable on our own, Im glad that none of you blame the Muslim religion, and if you do, then i am sorry that your sadly mistaken, Because being a Muslim in America, is somewhat I USE THAT TERM 'Somewhat VERY LOESLY' like someone who was Jewish when Nazis came into power. (and not into the same extent of killings but you get the idea)

Tleilaxu,I used to work with people form Indonesia. they where Muslims. They very nice to work with. They shock what happen 9/11 and their beliefs wasn't like that.I believe in that everyone has their right to their own beliefs. Terrorists will end up cause more damage to their beliefs than anything esle.

I just asked a straight forward question. If this was a popular book in the muslim world? I made the assumption that this book was printed in languages other than English. I just found it interesting that you would choose that name as your screen name considering you were a muslim and that series had some serious arabic/muslim undertones to it. That's all. Hence my reason for asking that question.

It's actually one of my favorite Sci-Fi novels

Quote:
im not sure wether iran asked for help

When one country sends aid to another country the least they could do is say thank you. Regardless of whether or not they asked for it. Would you rather have the world community ignore your country after a natural disaster.

It's not a right, it's an obligation because apparently many people can't stand up for themselves in other parts of the world because they live under oppressive regimes. These f@#%ing pieces of crap governments that you refer to aren't being toppled by their own people so some one has to do it.

That is really quite a bad analogy and I'm sorry that you feel that way. Can I ask you why you choose to live here if we're just a bunch of Muslim hating nazi's.

Dude I don't have anything against muslims, Jews, Christians, buddhists or anybody else for that matter. I know it's screwed up governments and people who have twisted the teachings of Mohamet that are the real enemy. My problem is that I don't see the muslim world standing up and saying this is wrong. That's what bothers me. If muslims around the world stood up and fought back against what's become a perversion of their religion then many people in this country wouldn't feel as untrusting and/or xenophobic towards them.

Perhaps we can just dumped this thread all together and just talk about Dune, Dune Messiah and Children of Dune. I'm really not the confrontational type. :clown:

I'm very curious in what part of America one could live and be made to feel that way. Also why the would continue to stay there. If memory serves correct the Jews tried to escape Nazi Germany. I've owned a home in Fremont, California since 1978. It is know to many a "Little Kabul". Funny I don't know a single Muslim in that community that feels like the Jews when oppressed by the Nazis. Dude you might just be hypersensitive or flat out paranoid. Either way keep posting as it’s really funny.

Thank you

Look, im not the one who has the answers and wants to keep fighting on a topic that we dont have a point of view of since none of us are (hopefully) terrorists, or stuck in a country were the Regime rules, but the thing about People fleeing, well, Why would you feel from your home in America when your not exactly being shot it, i said that statement VERY VERY loosely, in other words in a very low scale, should i rephrase it into a type of racism where everyone in America suspects any muslim who walks by the street of being dangerous? That's what i meant if you thought otherwise, it's that feeling that i don't like. And i dont live in America, i live in Canada. Land of the free .. Anyways note that if you further wish to talk about this go ahead, but we'll be at this for days since none of us are exactly getting opinions of those who can talk from experience.

Dude you paint with the widest brush I’ve ever seen. Amazing “Everyone in America”, never realized an entire nation could be so closely tuned to the same ideals on any given topic. That does confuse me somewhat in that I do not suspect all Muslims of being dangerous. My confusion is increased by the many protests that have occurred within America. If they all felt the same what do they protest? Now as for racism, you sir must have a much keener eye than I do as I can not pick someone’s preferred faith based on looks unless they display an indicator such as a Crucifix, Star of David, Etc. I was unaware that practicing Muslims were of one race only. The more I think about the race suggestion the sillier it becomes. I mean look at that fat terrorist bastard Mustafa Setmarian Nasar with the pasty face and red beard. If you where to base opinion on looks you would be more inclined to picture him tending bar at a pub in Belfast and if you considered a possible terrorist link it would lean towards the IRA not Al Qaeda. Are there not Muslims all throughout the world? Europe, Asia, The Middle East, Africa, etc.? Are they not of many races? You could put me in a room with a group of Palestinians and again without help I could not identify the Muslim from the Christian from the Samaritan. Furthermore I really wouldn’t care which was which but some of your previous statements indicate it just might matter to you. To bad.

I must conclude that your statement “Everyone in America” rings much truer to racism on your part than a fictional belief. I think perhaps you watch far to much television and believe all that you see and hear about America, perhaps because it leans towards what you want to believe. I would no more comment of life and politics in Canada than try and give an oral dissertation on the dark side of the moon and I’ve actually been to Canada but a few days would not make me an expert as I seriously doubt you are a true expert on the hearts and minds of Americans. Your pontification would make one think that in your minds eye, you are omnipotent when it comes to the American Psyche and soul.

You might find this site by American Muslims educational.
