I hear you there. No, you cannot judge the entire Muslin world on account of those extremists who distort the Koran to suit their own warped idealogy.

Hmmm. Most of the Arab governments were very quick to denounce the attacks.
But if you're referring to the general arab public, keep in mind that they know they may have neighbors who are radicals and if they say anything against them they or another family member may end up dead.

A quote by General William Tecumseh Sherman pretty much sums it up for me.

"War is cruelty. There is no use trying to reform it. The crueler it is, the sooner it will be over"

The way I see it is that only the bad guys are being exceedingly cruel. The west should start living by Sherman's words and hammer these folks. Two Bombs on Japan and there our best friends now. Go figure. As horrible as that was it nipped the war in the bud. No more Americans had to die. It was over. When Iran has gotten the bomb what do you think they will do with it. Remember these folks look forward to the afterlife (the radical psycopaths that are in charge anyway).

My deepest sympathies for the British people...I see that no one here (or their families) were affected by the 1st bombing, and I hope everyone is safe after this second one today.

We really need to remedy this problem, this has gone on too long. Unfortunately, it is the innocent ones (the "normal" muslims) that will pay the price for these fundamentalist jackasses, along with the rest of the citizens of the UK in the form of reductions of personal freedoms.

Unfortunately, there is another cold hard lesson to learn from these fanatics, best summed up by the words of Timothy Leary: "Think for Yourself, Question authority.". In this instance I mean this not so much in the context of political authorities but religious ones. These people have been conditioned to take the words of their Imams and accept them as the word of Allah; Christianity had it's day when this was the case as well (Read: The Crusades, The Spanish Inquisition, The burning of "witches" and "heretics" by the Catholic Church). Fanaticism in all of its forms is a terrible thing; common sense falls by the wayside and in its place comes groupthink, tyranny and oppression. We must all find our own way, and make sure that that way doesn't force us to become robots for the cause of some religious authority (example).

It's amazing that 800 years later that we are still feeling the effects of the Crusades. After seeing a special on the Crusades (Hosted by Monty Python's Terry Jones) I really felt bad for anyone who lived in that region of the world, especially the Muslims. The Crusaders were a pretty terrible lot. Of course it is somewhere around 700-800 years since the last crusade so maybe these folks should get over it already.

The whole virgins in the after life thing always cracked me up. I've heard a range of different numbers concerning the amount of virgins you would be blessed with in the after life. Let's say your blessed with 30 virgins. Then let's say you intend to have sex with these virgins every other night. That means your only going to have sex for 2 months and then gotta go dry for the rest of eternity because you wanted virgins and now you don't have anymore (Perhaps the virginity thing needs to be explained to these folks). Of course your in heaven so you probably won't be having sex anyway because you will have broken the bonds of the physical form and have no need for physical contact. So what exactly is the point of the virgins. Wouldn't one be enough to spend eternity with. And does she have to be a virgin? I find it hard enough dealing with my wife at times let alone 30 womenfor the rest of eternity.

Of course trying to rationalize this with people who strap explosives to themselves and saw peoples heads off might not be worth my time.
