How about a game that is MMORPG, BUT you do not have to pay monthly charges to play? Just get the game. In case you are interested...

I enjoyed reading the FAQ's page. Thanks! It sounds interesting. I've always been curious about this kind of online gaming, and the price sounds right. ;)

I'd be more interested in doing a group quest rather than a Guild v.s. Guild war, at least at first. If there's enough interest here at <SRA> it could be fun. I'd rather go adventuring with people I know and trust. :)

Sure Lepoloo,
A MMORPG stands for Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game. I am sure you have heard of EverQuest. It is similar, except that after you purchase the game, you can play all you want without paying the monthly charges that most games of this type charge. If you like the fantasy setting, with magic, dragons, and stuff like that give it a try. I would love to have a group of friends like you folks going out there and doing quest and exploring this game world. It is slower paced than UT, and more of a socializing game. It is easy to play as well. The character in the screenshot is my character. He is an Elementalist. He uses fire to kill the baddies. The only thing I do not like is his clothes..... They look kinda... ugh..
My boss is also participating in the beta. When we team up, we look like Sigfried and Roy. THAT is scary  Notice the big cat in the picture. I have tamed him and mad him my pet in the game. Hope he does not turn on me

ok, thanks Sci and Jarg. I went on the page and had explanations and Divx and screenshots and I think I ubderstood which kind of game you're talkng about BUT... :? I never ever played any kinda game !!!!
I only know that some of my friends that played were talking about magics and some qualities I didn't understand anything !!!
I'll have a look on it but I almost sure I won't like to play something I don't understand... :?

I'll try to see what it is...

This game looks dope! If you guys and gals form a gang, give me a holler. I could use the distraction!

My brother just got hired by Bungee -- guys who made Halo and Halo 2. I've tried to play it, but it's too damn complicated...

Great avatar Jarg. That's the "gonzo" point of view ...

Thanks for pointing out that game Jargy. Been playing EQ off and on for about a year and seeing that this game has no monthly fee seems like a pretty damn good deal but I'm wondering how the heck are they gonna be able to keep it alive without a fee. From my understanding the fees from other games help pay the ppl that work on the servers and that it also helps pay for bandwidth and maintance *shrug*.

If everything goes well with the actual release and its not too buggy I would love to give it a try. Keep us posted Jarg!

P.S. Is the game gonna be pretty deep as far as content goes? EQ for the most part has gotten so huge that its basically impossible to keep up with everything but this isn't exactly a bad thing.....keeps it interesting.

Good questions. As far as the no monthly fees, all new content will have to be purchased instead of downloaded. That way, they can keep the game going. As for the content? It is still in beta, so a lot of the places were still not accessable. Don't know how big this world is. Seemed to be pretty big.

After the beta test, I have mixed feelings about the game. CoH is a lot like a FPS. There is action, adventure, and loads of fun. This game is more laid back feeling. Still fun, but not white knuckled fun. I will still give it a go, but I ain't canceling my City of Heroes account.

Ok, has anyone got the game yet? (I see that they're having start up woes.)

Shall we venture forth into this soft focus fantasy realm? Or not? :?
