I download something couldn't get no sound I found this tool.Maybe the ones know about computer know this tool.It called Gspot
it tell you what is missing that you need .

it still won't play for Media player for windows it will play on DixX player :evil:

Sci,
What is the file extention (.avi, .mpg, .mpeg, etc). There is a good chance that your player does not have the appropriate codec is all.

What player did you try and what are all the video players you have.

Might try this if you have Nero? If so make sure it is up to date with all the video / audio plugins. Then Use use it to convert the files for a DVD. I know you dont have a burner, but if you have a player you have the software to play the .vob (dvd) video files.

I use DixX player which i download but I had to use
this get it. To play
AC3 Codec
Unknown (tag 2000)
Unknown (tag 8192)
it one in red
But window won't play it upadte one it WM10
Play Windowplayer,Quick time , real player and DixXplayer

Have you tried to open the video with the other players ( Windows Media Player, Quick time or real player)? One of them might be the key. :wink: How about Windows Movie Maker. If your running XP you might be able to open/play the file there and save to another format.

Windows Media Player 10 will play but it no sound.I have Windows Media Player,Quick time ( won't play it it said bad file),real player( play it I don't know it because I add AC3 Codec Unknown (tag 2000) to computer that play it) and I have DixX player that told me I was missing file
And I got Windows Movie Maker and it work on it.

I have and use gspot its still a little hit and miss with the codecs tho it does tell you what codec to use but then when you go look one up there could be 4 or more in that range still gotta guess which one unless you use shotgun approach and load them all only thing i dont like about that is conflicts i screwed up win 98 doing that with it last year.
