Nice to see more maps now please can the bots be taken off fighting the monsters is enough fighting bots for the guns first is just too much
and we need more lives 5 is no were near enough for most maps other then that i see no probs up to now good work :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

I've played a few times on the Monster Hunt server and have a few questions/concerns.

Do you need to download the Monster Hunt mod for the game to run correctly? The reason I ask is I don't have anything involving the mod other than the maps and other files that the server has sent me from the redirect and I have noticed a rather odd thing that happens from time to time. Noticed sometimes when I join the game that all my HUD stuff takes awhile to pop up. Is this normal? Another thing that it does is for some reason out of the blue the screen starts spinning at a high rate of speed and will go on for about 15-25 seconds which makes it unplayable until it decides to stop. Some enlightenment would be nice on that crazy stuff.

And whats up with that one map that starts in a giant hallway with the far wall pushing thru and killing you before you can go anywhere? Herm....was that map when you, me and scify were playing a few nights ago.

Other than the above issues the MH mod seems pretty fun. All the crazy high rate fire weapons and tons of stuff to kill gets a thumbs up in my book. Just got to figure out these few issues and the rest is cake so to speak.

ohhh yea had this i too thought it was just me till i seen others complain about it only seams to happen on some maps tho

Some of the maps are like that with traps falling rocks holes in floor colapsing bridges hope this helps

That map AFO maps I think u taking about U talking about your screen going crazy we SAt.night. U haven't play ATAA fix. that just as bad.endless of monster.

1. No you don't need to install the mod for the mod to work correctly but it is a good idea usually since it will add tabs to your search window allowing you to see other MH servers. The down side is that if you load a different version or a version that isn't as up to date as mine or the others, you may find your self looking at the dreaded "File MisMatch Error"

2. The hud issue. It isn't your PC. It's the mod. Some of these maps will auto hide it. I've seen Monster Hunt maps that hide the messenging box. I've seen others that will make your weapons invisible. I have seen a few where your hud is only partially there. The reason for this is that MH maps are by far the hardest to make and no one really made too many good ones. I want to learn mapping badly so I can look into these and fix many of them that are broken. In short. All of this is normal since it is actually just bad code that hasn't been fixed yet.

The spinning screen. I thought the same thing several years back. As near as I can tell, it's built into the map and it has something to do with you taking damage as near as I can tell. When it spins, run around even though you can't see. If you don't take dameage for long enough, it will stop. I hate the maps that do this.

The sliding hallway wall: It was built to do that and you can actually make it to the end where there is nothing but a right turn and the map finishes. I hate that map too.

DarkMatter:

I will remove some bots down to 3 players ok? That's you and 2 bots. I will also double the lives to 10. Shame that there really isn't a way to tweak this based on the complexity of the maps. One map can be done with one life while another would take 30. More players makes it easier to go farther on fewer lives. The bots are about the worst I've ever seen. If I make them smarter, the code still won't produce good results and the monsters will just be too tough.

All:

I'm still trying to get all of the downloads to work period. I haven't tested other than actualt playing. This MH is turning out to be a bigger problem than I thought but it is very fun and I stand to learn a lot goofing with this mod. I haven't had much time at all with the baby coming. I'll get to it as I can. Later and try to enjoy till then.

That spinning screen effect is something that seems to be built into some of the maps. I really hate it. Sometimes the best thing to do is just feign death when it happens. It seems to stop sooner when you do that. I think. :doubt:

If the bots are stealing all the goodies, immediately order all of them to: "Attack the base". They will reply that they are complying, and start running in place on one spot. ;)

It's 6:40 pm CST on Tuesday night, and Herm's MH server is down. :(
I sure hope it will be up soon. I've been looking forward to playing on it for the whole of my 6+ hour drive home from Montreal! :? :lol:

Thanks for the info guys. Since this was my first ever MH server I had no clue if what I was seeing was my UT messing up or just part of the mod. Still even with those crazy little things it is definately a neat mod. Thanks for the change of pace Herm. Kinda nice actually helping online buds instead of killing them :twisted:

Ok, I guess I've been totally spoiled by that UTJMH mutator, because I hate starting out with only 100 health, and don't like not being rewarded with more for killing monsters. Running out of ammo sucks too! :? :lol:

BTW Herm, delete the map MH d5!!! :o :shock:
It is broken, and without mapvote or a mass suicide by all the players, there is no escape from it.
Use only MH d5 kai. It is exactly the same map, but it has been fixed. :)

I'm using this right now to force going through all of the maps. It does it in order and no one can change the order. When it hits a bad map, it gets stuck. This gets logged and I can then fix the map or get rid of it. I will be putting in MapVote but not till I've actually seen each map run through without choking or complaints. I have a "These Maps Suck" folder to put all the crap into. Unfortunately, it seems about 50% suck at least. Suckage is defined as maps that are so stupid or so broken that you can't complete them period. I'll weed out the rest later. Will this be ok for now?

The maps that suck the most are all those surreal Japanese made ones. (MH-Sushi anybody? :roll: )
Also, they play way too much Nintendo. All that jumping and block hopping is way evil. And what kind of drugs is that guy on who does all those AFO maps? Geez! :? :-x

MH is as demanding as redeemer arena. The maps either work, or they don't. :|

Hermskii server is stuck on MH-giantboss2 played the map 3 times just keeps restarting on it

Just played it again at the end i noticed it says 'xmaps problem failed to load next map'
