I'm using a stick mic plugged into my soundcard. It works fine, but I sometimes have to turn down my speakers so that the others don't hear any echoing. A USB headset it the way to go. I'm waiting for one to go on sale.

Thanks for the heads up Scify and Nameless. The logitech seems to be a nice one from what I've seen on the net. Looks like a 20-30 dollar investment which isn't as horrible as I was thinking first off. I can get my hands on a little boom mic pretty easy I am sure but what Nameless was saying about feedback/echo is what I want to steer clear of. I have to make a trip to Walmart this evening for groceries and such and I will make my way back to the electronics section and see what they have back there. Had a friend about a year and a half ago pick up a mic/headset for his computer there and only ran him about 15 bucks. I want to say it was a labtech or something along those lines and worked pretty well the one time I used it.

Anyways thanks for the help guys and gals!

P.S. What is everybody using for screen names on Yahoo?

I have a headset that cost me about $10-$12 that I think I got from Office Max or CompUSA a couple of years ago. The name on the headset says "Andrea Anti-Noise NC-150". This is a cheap and simple head set that seems to work perfectly for me. There is one wire from the headset and it goes all the way to the end where it splits in to 2 wires. They each terminate with a color coded plug that also has an idiot proof picture one each one. One has a picture of a mic and the other has a picture of a speaker. I simply plug them to the appropriate holes on my sound card and viola....it works great.

Sounds like the same type of one i bought i liked the idiot proofing on it too, nice long 4 metre lead with mic on/off and volume control too all on a nice clip to put on clothing in the appropriate place thought it might be a little nasty at the cheap price i bought it at but works ok also has noise canceling on it
