LOOKS GREAT, BIGI. Plays well, and the annoying blast is gone. Here is a series of screenshots for your viewing pleasure.

Okay, I'm gonna try to get the server up tonight. Wish me luck!

I tried the new mod and liked it a lot. I's still make 2 changes that come to mind right off the bat. Can the black frame that appears when you're guiding a missile be removed? 2nd suggestion would be to remove the red/orange part of the explosion entirely and reduce the blue part to 75% of what it is set at now. Possibly slow the missile speed too. I thought it looked good and I am so glad to see that when it detonates, it returns your view back to what it was when you shot the missile. This will be a popular server I'm sure.

I got a great dl speed at this site.

I can remove the red park of the explosion, and reduce the size some more, but at the current size, you should only get flashed bad if your in the blast radius.

As for the black frame, I agree. I will next look into trying to remove it.

Version 2B is out. Removed that black box around the guided missle fire and showed the hud. Reduced missle speed to 80% of normal....flies a lot nicer. Got rid of the orange part of the explosion (I like the blue better anyway).

Jarg, I had a bitch of a time getting that dedicated server going to. Basically what I ended up doing was, setting up the game how I wanted it using my retail version....then coping the UT2004.ini file to the Server copy. the RunServer.bat file should start your server, then you have to log into the server via admin console, and select your mods from there....only way I could get it to work.

I wished I could get that far into it. Do you have to create the regestry values for it?

You have to input the cd-key in the regestry. I have my server key, but there is no place to put it.
From the email that I received:

Quote:
Thank you for requesting a UT2004 server CD key. Your server CD key is

XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
For Windows servers, save the attached UT2004_Server_CD_Key.reg and upload it to your dedicated server. Once it's there, double-click it to install it in the Windows registry. You can also install it by hand by making a new String registry entry called CDKey in

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Unreal Technology\Installed Apps\UT2004

Warning: do not double-click this .reg file on a Windows computer which already has a retail UT2004 installation - it will overwrite your retail CD key with the server-only one.

If this occurs, you will need to reinstall your copy of UT2004 from your original CDs.

There is no such path on my machine. Since there is no installer for the dedicated server, no keys are entered into the regestry. I have made the key myself, but I have no idea if it will work....

Jarg, you should just be able to double click the .REG file, and it should create the keys for you. :-)

If you right click and edit it, or open it in notepad, you can see the key it will create and has your CDKey listed for ya.

I have been in discussions with Bigi. I think he may be making a few other changes to the mod. I think this is going to get very exciting. He has easily been able to modify the mod so far in order to make the suttle changes that make it feel more like Schwantz's original mod. There a re a couple more things that he is looking at right now and if he is successful, then we will have a beautiful Redeemer mod that everyone is already familiar with. Hey Bigi....the special edition with DVDs has the whole game on DVD #1 and map making and model making tutorials on the second CD. That is the difference between it and the CD version. I have heard the heradphones that come with the DVD edition aren't that good. Epic is also already porting over the game to 64 bit for the new athlons. On my behalf, I just want to say thank you to Bigi for putting up with me as I have been bugging him about these little changes and he has charged right through all of it without a single complaint. Thanks Bigi and thank God we found you or you found us. Peace all.

Agreed. Thank you Big E for the effort. It is greatly appreciated.

As far as the server is concerned....
Small miracle, I got it to show up on the master server list!!!! There is no ping, though, but that is a step in the right direction. Schwantz had this same problem, I think. I am getting closer :D

To do this, I installed the full game so that the regestry keys would be written. Then changed the cd-key in the regestry. Now to research the N/A ping issue.

Edit;
I now have the server with Bigi's 2004.2 Redeemer running, but still no ping. I have e-mailed Schwantz to see how he fixed his problem, but I am doing some legwork myself.
