wink wink....

Probably not. The version you.... I mean, your friend has is probably installed on quite a few machines. The best thing you can do is call Microsoft, and get a new key. Your friend will have to pay for it. For XP Home, I think it is 89 dollars US.

Nice Vette!

I was afraid to even begin to try to answer -- entrapment!

Hmmmm. Very interesting reading.... If I come across a "used" copy of Windows, I may just have to give it a shot. Thanks Vettester 8)

Vette beat me to it. Note that the key generator program always generates the same set of keys. I noticed this a year ago or so. Try it you'll see. The other thing that spooked me was that the site they point you to is in fact a microsoft site to get the SP1 but it's not the same site you connect to in order to get the SP1 from Windows Update. From these two things, I assumed that Microsoft is in on this for who knows what reason. Maybe just to gauge how many people are using the link from tweaktown or whatever it's called. I just thought you might want to know these two things before you assume it's free and clear. Even knowing what I just said, I have tried this process before. It worked perfectly and not a single software policeman has shown up at my door step yet. If one does, I'm sure I won't have enough time to tell you about it. Cheers!
