O.K. YOU COMPUTER Guru's can anyone educate me to

ERROR NUMBER: 0x800A00A0005

Signed the kids computer onto the windows update page and tried "Express Install" and "Custom Install" both returned:

"Winows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested page - ERROR NUMBER: 0x800A00A0005"

I tried their support information, no luck, go figure. Also ran a search on the net, but all the results were way over my head :x

As always any help is appreciated.
Peace & Piece, Skank

Leave it alone and change nothing. Wait a day and try again. If it still doesn't work, BUY A MAC! Hehehehe. I love that I can say that but wait....you already have one don't you? I knew Mahatma was right when he/she/it told me you went both ways!!! Crap! I guess that means I do too...

I had to dig for this old buddy but here ya go. This was from an older thread. Not sure if it ever helped Scify with her problem but it might do the trick.

I figured out exactly what you need to do to get that whole thing working. First you have to be wearing Elmo boxer shorts. next you need to change your autoexec.bat and config.sys files so they make absolutely no sense. Then you need to stand on your head while sipping peanut butter through a straw. while you are doing this you need to be playing Yo Yo Ma on your stereo. This must be vinyl. Last but not least you must hold down the shift key while at the same time holding down the "g" "a" " t" "e" and "s" keys and slam something hard and heavy against the side of the PC. This should fix everything. If this doesn't work try Tech support. Hope this helps

Have you emailed tech support at Micro$oft yet Skank?

I have asked them for help twice in the past, and got very polite and helpful replies within two or three business days each time. They rather inundated me with information and things to try, but I was able to glean what I needed both times. :)

I was ahead of you, already tried that with the exception of Yo Yo Ma being played from an 8-track rather than vinyl. The 8-track version worked as a substitute for the vinyl in the past so should still be good to go.

Hermskii,
I don't know if your kidding me or not. Remember I'm not much more than an over rated carpenter and it wouldn't be polite to trick me into doing something silly.

Thank you all for your time and effort regarding this topic.
Sincerely, Skank

If it doesn't then just try cramming it in the "floppy drive".
