Have any of you folks fired off the new redeemer. It's pretty damn sweet. Found it while playing bomb run and I have to admit I wet myself when I fired it off.

Since I don't play bombing run I'll never see it. Tell us about it already. What's different? How's the steering? The explosion? MORE MORE!

In the Onslaught map Torlan, it is on top of the tall central tower. You need the raptor to get up there. It guides very well. Clem needs to do his magic with it.

It flies smooth as all hell, and the explosion is very cool. Wider spread for sure. Hey what do ya know. We actually have a thread going here concerning Redeemers. Who would have ever thunk?

If your playing Bombing Run it's right in the middle of the map where the ball is placed at the beginning of the match. There are 2 towers on either side. Each tower has a platform at the base of it. One of these platforms has the redeemer on it. Plus you have a wide open field to fly over. It was "Da Bomb" so to speak.

I've been playing all of the maps and have been taken out by the redeemer a number of times in the CTF map. I didn't recognize the new shape right away, it's a big fat Fah-ker with an incredible splash damage area. :o

One annoyance is that it is fairly silent in flight. You don't get to hear it coming like in UT. :(

Another is that you can get to the damn thing, but then you may have to walk over it multiple times to be allowed to pick it up. :? Meanwhile of course a bot translocates in and snatches it away from you. (Same thing with the health keg too!)

Would this make it a SBD WMD?

I thought it was just me. All the weapons seem to be difficult to pick up unless you run over them almost direct center. I think part of the problem is that the weapons don't actually get picked up until your directly over them and they are out of site. In the original UT they would disappear and you would here the tell tale "click" just fraction of a second prior to reaching the weapon or ammo.

I believe the default "use" key is the E key. I bound a taunt to the E key. I found that the U key worked for me. Try that.

Driving the tank in Onslaught once it is allowed is fun. ;)

Do you folkd think that it would be possible to have a redeemer arena in an onslaught game? It would be difficult but maybe interesting.

I tried renaming all of the maps to DM, but it didn't work. Perhaps it's just a limitation of the demo.
Strictly DM in all of these maps would be cool. Redeemer arena in the CTF map would especially rock! :)

I tried that trick too, as well as trying to import the 2003 maps to the demo... No go. It was worth a try

I suppose that if we could do that, then there would not be a reason to buy the new game. Those tricky Atari\Epic folks :D
