uuhhhhhhh Mahatma. Why did my name pop up in this thread.

Good luck Tri. In a couple years I hope to take the same plunge. It's hard to get the nerve up to make that decision but if ya don't you'll regret it forever. Now at least in the years to come there won't be a "What if..."

Well I survived the first week of school! :D wow!! lots to learn though ! and its a very intensive program they really pile it on ya for the first two courses !!! its alot of fun except for the long hours with going to school and working too ( how's a 19 - 20 hours day grab ya?? ) yea and only four hours sleep a night too!!
but I feel pretty good about it overall , my instructer is a certified Master Chef !!! in other words , he knows his stuff!! and he cut himself yesterday cutting up a whole Salmon , so that can happen to anyone regardless of experience!
have a good weekend all !

I'm being serious and don't know so I'm asking. Aren't there specialty chefs? You know, like some do baking a lot and others stick to fish etc. Are you going to specialize in anything? Is there anything with cooking you don't want to do? What is the most important thing you learned so far that you didn't know before and would want to tell us. Yeah, like any ancient chef secrets you want to let loose? Later. I just wish I could cook an omlett without burning it to death.

Congrats on the cooking school bro!!!! I can relate about the sleep depervation that your going thru. Did something like that for about 6 months in my college days and it just about killed me. Full time student and a night job at the local paper was only netting me about 4 hours a night in the sleeping department.

Did somebody say brownies?????

Well it looks like your off to a killer start and hope everything goes well for ya.

Well , Still holding on to a 4.0 GPA !I just netted another A in SKills 2 Still very tired though :( .....like Kid said ,it's ruff and I may have to end up changing jobs in order to have more time to sleep and study. The class that I'm in now is really one that hurts the most,
English and French class :? :( it looks like my run on A's just hit the skids  , oh well ,at least I have mad cooking skills

later,

Iron Chef

PS . Yeah Herm there are specialized chefs , saucier , Entrimetier , garde mange , and patissier - pastry chef , etc...
