OK! Know that we know moving sux let me tell you how it's going. This is my first time onlime since the move and cable has been hooked up since yesterday but hasn't been working. My router won't work so no CG for a while still. Right now, only one PC can be on at a time. I ran a speed test and check this out:

2004-01-01 19:30:36 EST: 3200 / 365
Your download speed : 3200401 bps, or 3200 kbps.
A 390.6 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 365096 bps, or 365 kbps.
Seems like broadband .. above the 1mbit barrier!

I like it! I'll say more later. I'm terribly sorry to hear about Schwantz's wife's loss and hope everyone had a great Christmas and a wonderful New Years Day. Unpacking is worse than packing because you actually have to clean it before you put it out again. My back is shot and I am tired. Still, I'm happy to be back on line!!! Later!

shit man i hear you. boxes everywhere, knuckles scraped from moving shit around, shins and knees bruised from banging into furniture scattered in every direction, etc etc.

Hurry up and get that router up! I'm ready for some therapeutic newbie-fragging. Nice speed Herm. I just got my earthlink dsl up and it's 1.25 mbits. Not half as fast as yours... :-x

I have got a wireless router now. It's not hooked up yet but I think I'll get it online tonight sometime. CG should be up again as well if all goes well. Did I mention that MOVING SUX? What really hurts is knowing I'll be doing it again inside of 5 years and next time, we're NOT buying a fixer upper. Next time it will be brand new with a lot more space. This place is barely bigger than my last 2 bed 2 bath apartment. So far, we've exceeded 12K on the fixing up and still have about 5K to go. On the good side, it is a house, I have a yard and I can actually park my cars inside a garage and they'll still be clean the next day. All money spent is well worth it since this is our first home and we want it to be a happy one. Later!

I've been fighting with the wireless router all day! I just won. Turned out my nic cards were actually too old and weren't supported. I had one spare and it is the one Schwantz sent with the PC. I'll put it in CG and get her up and going tonight or tomorrow. I still have lots of reworking as far as my other hardware goes and I can't get over all of the damn cables everywhere! I'm just glad the router is working. Later! MOVING SUX!

Oh yeah! Check out the latest and best speed test I ever had!

Incredible speed, Herm. How many players will CG support with those numbers?

Nice numbers Herm.

I just got: 4379/553

About the best I've ever seen too. However I've noticed something weird in the past. Whenever my game is really flakey online; if I go and check my speeds, I'll often see the second number (upload) is about as high as, or higher, than the first (download). I get all kinds of lag, and see the red light of doom a lot when the numbers are like that. I wonder why. :?:

That's what happens when you have to share the uplink with others :-) DSL is slower, but more deterministic.

Nameless, that's an awesome connection you have there! I haven't done the math on how many I can hold now. I want to see how consistant it is and would rather keep the number the same and just offer better gameplay. The main reason I'm posting right now is to inform you of CG's new IP address. I hope to get to keep it for a while but I haven't been on line with this connection or this router long enough to know how solid it is. Here is the new IP:

68.201.223.8:7757

Let me know how it plays. Later!
