jumping on players is too much work, and the trick I used is nearly effortless, so that's not it.

to telefrag without the translocator does not require a portal. but yes, all my 26 frags are very close to the spawn point. in fact, all 26 kills are at the same spawn point. the area is not fully protected, as I've been killed from a nearby redeemer explosion while in that area.

close? I'd say you're really close. so close that I've decided to let you tell us how I did it. :D I'm pretty sure you'll figure it out very soon after playing that map a few times. just be sure to look at your post from Monday night. only a paper thin door separates you from the truth now, and you don't need a piston to get to it. :lol:

ok. I think I know how you did it....kinda.

but, it doesn't work on bots...because they hit the ground running.

Let me just say, I watch the bodies stack up at my feet, OMG it was beutiful...they actually stacked....I tried it with 6 players on CG. But for some reason, I didn't get credit for the kill.

Does there have to be more players for it to count them as kills? Maybe when the server gets loaded it skips a couple processes...?

Tell me if I am off base...

to think of it, I will go see if it counts them as suicides....lol...which is just as funny.

btw, If it is the spot I think it is...I tend to aim my missle that way so I can hit two spawn points....but the ramp may block the flak. Mah's spot is good but it won't hit your spot....so....


EDIT!

ans it seems it does give them suicides....lol.

I guess it may not work well with just bots. if you look at the screen shot, all 11 players are real players, and note that several had 20+ frags. that means a large number of kills and thus a large number of respawns. perhaps you can try two real players and 15 or so bots. I'm thinking godlike bots may work better.

didn't use secrets, didn't use boots.

think about what happens before the "stacking". :D

don't know about the sweet spots you guys use, but I'm thinking that I need people in those spots to go on long sprees to feed me all my frags. :lol:

you're at that paper thin door still but nothing's happening.. you can kind of see the truth through the door but only its shadows.. maybe you can try out the fractal idea for a few games..

ok, this is as close as I can get without giving it away..

stay up the chute and watch them spawn into pieces at your feet..

the key questions here are

1) how do you "stay up the chute"?

answer: you already figured that out.. all you need to do is hold down that key for the whole game.

2) how can they "spawn into pieces"?

answer: I guess it's something different about 8Ball1c, where you spawn in mid air. normally, when the spawn point is on the ground, the player that spawns later telefrags the player that is at the same place. this is one thing that I didn't see you mention.

a side question to this is

3) how do you get that many frags?

answer: it has something to do with a very large number of respawns, since I get my frags when other players respawn where I am. to get a very large number of respawns, there has to be a large number of deaths. the easiest way to get a large number of deaths is to have a large number of players and a high death rate. this is probably why when there are fewer players, you'd sit up the chute and little or nothing happens.

I hope this helps you get closer to the truth..

I just Don't get it Herm !!!I'm tellin ya ,I get nowhere on Cg's :evil: !! at all !! , and I go to one of the other servers (NWRO) for example and it 's just fine for me ,I can actually win a few sometimes :mrgreen: !! and that 14 player crud's a big joke !! thats way way way too many folks to run smoothly !! :roll: .....

I don't know what else to tell you my man. I have been looking at that 14 player max myself lately. The numbers I use dictate that I should have a Max of 12 and I never see it with 14 and if I do, it's laggy so I'll turn it back down to 12 again and no it's not just for you. I can hear Mahatma now........NOOOOOOOOO! Sorry Mah! I agree with Trigon and I have (on the side) heard from a few others requesting it cut back to normal. Trigon, this technically, by the numbers, shouldn't help you any. Maybe it will though, so try again on Monday and let me know. Everything else is already back to default with the exeption of the server adds which I have decided to keep but I will get rid of the facts and just push the other servers and this forum. I'm positive that this has nothing to do with the gameplay at all. Trigon, what is your OS? What is your internet connection? Thank you!

just a short note. found out that the trick does not work at all the spawn points on 8Ball1c.

argh!!!!!!!! It goes to 14 more often than you think!

In the end it's your executive decision of course, but would you mind putting it to a vote to survey whether or not people actually experience lag with 14? Another thing to run a survey on is the loss of air control -- on low-grav maps (the space ones and Morpheus) it is extremely hard to play without air control.

we played with 14 almost all day today. Overall, it seemed like it ran great....

The pings were good. with 14 players mine still stayed around 100. But the server itself seems a bit lagging, processing wise.

for instance, when playing the map that is just a square....forgot the name...it takes several seconds for my frag count to update. I will get a monster kill....and it is about 5-10 seconds to update on my screen. And then when the match is over, it takes longer for the map vote to pop up...10 seconds +...

I don't think it is a BW problem...

Ok as for putting it to vote mah i have to say i would like it back to 12 simply becouse its too much with more i know you like the fast frantic games i do but not every round as it seams to be with 12+ playing, but agree totaly on the air control the low grav maps really suck now no more gliding around.
Just another .02 cents (how much is that in uk pennies :lol: :lol: )

Here's what I did. I restored the air control setting to the factory default of 35%. I increased game speed 5% to a new all time high for CG of 110%. I left max player load at 12. I think that makes all of you a little happier and no one got exactly what they wanted. It's as fair as I can make it and I appreciate the opinions and responses. Trigon, try it again please. I did something else too but can't remeber what it was. Bigi, I don't know what to tell you budd. I've seen the mapvote delay but never a scoring delay. Plenty of times, I feel like I never get frags I should get at all. I am not going to look into what you described because I know I won't find it. The hesitation with many players is game stat calculating and TCP connections closing and reopening. Nothing I can do there. Peace all.

As always, you are an exemplary diplomat. Have you ever considered running for office?

Bigi, the scoring lag on the AndaDarCustom map seems to always be like that. I don't think it affects the quality of game play, if that concept even applies on such a tiny map, lol!!!

12 -- ok. I can live with 2 fewer pieces of filet mignon, but please, no more reduction in meat!

The game play was still great, just noticed the kill count delay mostly...wierd.
