Thanx. :)

Is there a corresponding list of forbidden foods? I don't see milk in the list, yet cheese is ok.

Congratulations Jarg.
Like the others I don't want you to hurt yourself.
My boss last year wieghed 347 lbs. He is 6'5".
He bought a treadmill and began using it faithfully everyday.
He also changed his eating habits, cut down on the starches, and quit eating so called junk foods.
He worked his way up to an hour a day on the treadmill at one session with a pretty steep angle.
After a years time he is down in the 220's and has kept it off by his eating habits and still exercises on the treadmill, though not as hard.
His blood pressure dropped way down.
And he can walk and kneel even without it killing his legs, feet and knees.

Forbidden Foods Information
Bread, Rice, Potatoes, Pasta, Breakfast Cereals, Milk, Sugar, Caffeine, Pastry, Alcohol, Pizza, Fruits, Curries, Biscuits, Yoghurts…

Basically, you look at the Nutrition Facts published on the back of most food products. During the Induction phase of the diet, you can have only 20 carbs per day.

Thanx again Jarg. I've suspected for a long time that I eat too much bread and other carbohydrates. Although I don't think I can get it down to 20% a day; I guess I could cut back quite a bit.

I hope you will be allowing yourself the recommended amounts on your diet soon. It sounds to me like you are changing your body chemistry with this diet. As such I don't think it would be wise to second guess the experts for too long a period, since they have come up with the guidelines after years of research.

I think I'll do what I usually do with any form of diet, that is adapt it to what I can live with.
Even though I've been overweight for years; I'm in no rush to lose a lot of weight. A pound or two a week would be fast enough.
I take vitamin E every day, as the evidence is abundant that taking it is good for the heart and circulatory system. My last physical was fine. Ticker in great shape, BP only slightly up from what it was 15 years ago, -but then, I am 50 years old now.
You have lots of time to lose the weight you want to get off, please tell us that you'll be following your diet properly soon. :| :)

NO ALCOHOL??? WTF?

Sorry but that sounds like a recipe for disaster (consult Chef Trigon). What about a little wine? OK, I know it has sugars, but civilization was built on sugar.

Wine is okay on occasion. No more benders though...

*Update*

Well, I have hit a wall, and am not loosing now. I haven't strayed from the diet at all, but this is to be expected. Now comes the hard part, maintaining the loss at a slower pace. I plan to stay on it and keep trying... My boss quit the diet over the weekend. He had to have some El Salvadorian food. Oh well.

Almost all the carbs I intake everyday are beer and wine carbs, lol. Smoking keeps me thin though.

Keep at it Jarg, but remember to eat enough roughage and get some exercise (other than UT). Personal question: when you use the toilet, is it like kiln-fired adobe bricks dropping into the water?

UPDATE.
I weighed today for the first time in a while. In less than a month, I have gone from 265 lbs to.....

225 LBS!!!!

Everyone else that was on the diet has stopped except for me. I had the most weight to loose, and lost it the fastest.

I nearly fell out when I looked at the scales... Only 26 lbs to go :D

One problem... I have to go clothes shopping soon. That would normally be a good thing, but at this time of year, money is tight.. I guess I should not look a gift horse in the mouth.

I kept all my skinny clothes. They're waiting for me to lose weight. They'll probably be in style again by the time I'm ready for them!

After some nasty backsliding, I'm now down to only 1lb above my all time low for the last decade and a bit. Slow and steady for me. ;)
