Congrats! Now if you were attending the Culinary Institute of America, we could make all kinds of jokes about you becoming a spy ... 8)

Well ...the machine buisness hasn't done very good at all for a while now ,and as I've done machining for about twenty years and its gotten harder and harder to find a decent paying job in the machine market , and its just been druggery having to be on nights and with no real future in it , so I've decided on a career that would have a much brighter future to it , and to be able to do something that I really like to do and would look forward to doing every day would be awesome indeed !!....they make good money too ....maybe be able to afford broadband !! !!hehe!

later ,

have a good weekend !

I say awesome for you sir! It is sad to see so much of the market losing the people that do the job best but if they don't want to compensate and appreciate properly then I say let them retrain my replacement themselves! Good luck with the change of work. I am on the same road myself. I'm out of the computer gig if I can help it. I have several things in the works right now and am completely confident that I will end up doing something that I like once again. You go Trigon! My wife quit her job and they countered with a $20,000 raise and a on the spot $5,000 bonus just to stay to the end of the year. She called me and asked what she should do and I said the extra money is great but would she be happy I asked her. She turned it down and took a job that pays a few thousand less than she making before. She's happier though and it shows which means I score more often!

Congratulations! :D
It is great to hear that you are going to such an exclusive school to learn the culinary arts. I wish you the best of luck. Perhaps, when you are a chef at Spago's, you can see to it that your old buddy Jarg can get a free lunch
Awesome job, Tri!
P.S. If you decide to make the B.C. Brownies, please send a sample to North Carolina. I hear that the secret "herb"s and spices in those things are great!

Wow, the last I heard companies were going begging for cad cam machinists. :o
It strikes me as very odd that you don't seem to be a valued human resource by your company. I guess the economy has cooled a lot more since 9/11 than I realized. :?

I agree that you should go for it. You will be in the position of doing something you like more, and will be better compensated and appreciated to boot. Very sweet! :D 8)

I will look forward to your return on broadband. ;)
