I was hit by a guided missile AFTER the game ended. How can that happen?

I am just curious.

Possible lag. An aimbot just for redeemers sounds unlikely, but stranger things have happened.
When I'm lagging bad, I can be a second behind the others on the server. How long after the match ended did this happen?
Plus, don't missiles usually travel after the match ends? If it was heading straight for you, it may have just continued on it's course.

It hit me about 2 or 3 secs after the end and it flew in an arc - that's what I found pretty strange.

When people connect to the server just after the game has ended, they can float around, shoot, and, I believe, guide missiles too. Some people will disconnect and reconnect at the end of the game just so that they can float over to the winner that everyone is looking at, and fire missiles at his or her feet.

I don't think aimbots would allow for guiding, since there would be no point. But who knows.

I can guide my missiles after the match has ended. There is a trick to how you launch it and how you aim it after the game is stopped. I can't tell you the trick exactly but I can most often do it on giant open space maps after a game. The guiding part is hard as hell because it's worse than third person behind view. I can assure you it's not a cheat though.

Yep. I've done this before, too. It helps if you end the game in mid-air on a low-grav map like Hyperblast. Less obstacles to deal with after launching the redeemer. Steering the redeemer is like driving backward through your rear-view mirror. (Not that I've done that sort of thing.) It's very disorienting.

But how do you do it? I've tried it, and the rocket's just appeared behind me and stayed in place. Couldn't guide it all. :(

After you finish, switch the weapon to transloc and then back to redeemer. As soon as it turns back to redeemer, hit the right-click and hold it down and you'll be off and guiding!
