I picked the weekend only option though it was hard to pass up Torpids vast plane rear end and especially hard to pass on the crack smokin Mac-Addicts. "Mac-Addicts" LOL. I claim that term as my own! The weekend was great Boss! Thanks for having and putting up such a fun and hard rendition of SRA. I think weekend only is the way to go with this mod. I hope there is a way to get it to run solid. Good luck.

I voted of course for the Mac/crack option.

But this is complicated. The strangelove was great fun. Herm has 2 redeemer arenas well populated and under control. It may be a good idea to let strangelove go on for a bit longer. {edited}

On the other hand, SRA is the mother of all redeemer arenas. How can she become a fulltime strangelove arena?

Could the strangelove be a waystation to UT2003?

Edited by: Mahatma at: 6/17/02 3:23:18 pm

I'd like to see strangelove stay around as well as the classic Redeemer SRA. SRA is Hard Core Redeemer and I would not like to see it change. I like the new stuff once in a wile (might explain why I'm single..again) but Mah has a point. There are some other Redeemer mods out there but they wouldn't be there if SRA hadn't shown the way. I too have lost my feel for the 'pop guns' in other UT's.

Bent Hook

By saying "letting strangelove go for a bit" -- I meant "let it go on." In other words, I was thinking it was a good change of pace, and since Herm has regular redeemer arena going, nothing would be lost.

Soon UT2003 will be here, and another choice will perhaps present itself. Is there even a good nuclear weapon in UT2003?

M

there appears to be strong evidence supporting the existence of the redeemer in UT2003 (I'm at work and haven't checked out the links below yet):

www.ut2k3.net/weapons.php
exceed.gamesmania.de/beri...e&artid=14
www.gamesradar.com/previe...w_290.html
www.bodybagarena.com/ut2003.html
www.gamesdomain.com/gdrev..._2003.html
www.game.uk.com/lowdown.a...ide_id=372

- clemmentine

I clicked on the bottom link, and had a good read. The redeemer will return, but the sludge gun and ripper will not. The sniper rifle has been heavily modified. The graphics are awesome.

Thanx for the links clem.

No time to blather, I'm going to look at the other links now. I voted for adding armadillos to the mod. I thought strangelove was a lot of fun and would like to see it back up on weekend. After I found the throttle and afterburner control I was even less in control.

Anyone seen my young armadillo
Deadman

Edited by: Arkansas Deadman at: 6/18/02 7:33:53 pm

On one of those maps, Skank, Sci and I practiced "piggy-backing." It was the map with the tram and the tall tram-tower in the center. We all met in the middle of the map and the very top of this tower.

1. You cannot give or take rides from members of the opposing team.

2. You cannot ride 3 to a missile.

3. If a rider aims directly for a teammate and then dismounts at the last moment, the ride will transfer to the teammate, provided the missile is not headed for collision with anything else.

4. If you desire to give a mate a ride, stand directly behind him/her, lube up, and launch your missile. Astroglide and KY are recommended, as they are water-based.

5. Armadillos do not have long enough legs to straddle the missile and stay on. Nali cows, however, do.

6. We do not yet know if, while piggy-backing, the second teammate can go into firing mode and rotate any which way.

M

Here's a couple pointers I've observed in my short hops...

1- Dillos' do stay on the missle if you use Duck Tape.

2- Don't let the Dillo on the back. It dosn't even know what KY is or what it's for.

3- You can turn and shoot from the back of a double up. But if the Dillo is in back, the tape keeps it from turning to fire. Your gonna need more than KY for what happens next.

4- How do ya get off the damn missle?

HookaDillo

Exit the missle via right click. Also jump might work if your not a Dillo, in which case your screwed but probably don't know it.

Sincerely, Skankadillo

Edited by: Skank at: 6/18/02 8:37:47 pm
