Hello fellow anti-clanners,

I have noticed in the past few days that new people are asking how to join <SRA> or when to try out, LOLOL!!!

Anyone else get these questions?

I'm sure we could devise a special audition in which the applicant must dress up as a NaliCow and come to the Hills of Ariza.

All I have said so far is that they can put on the tshirt if they so desire. I think that takes all the air and mystique out of their idea of exclusivity, and I haven't yet seen any newbs wearing the outfit.

However, I realized that this could be the setup for an elaborate joke. Any ideas?

M

<SRA>/v/ahatma

The irony of the situation is funny. We, who used to love to kill clanners, now are a clan. Just a clan of a different kind. Instead of protecting each other, we like to frag each other.
I don't get these questions, but I have not had the time to really play for a few weeks.
As for if and how to earn the SRA badge, I tend to believe that the old timers have the say on this. But posting pics of cow play on the net would be funny.
Are the badges something that are going to stay? If so, then I would be honored to put up a <SRA> Clan Page. I do not think that the newbie page is getting too much traffic, and I would like to have a page for everyone to enjoy. Any thoughts?
{SRA} The Jargonaut

I actually seen somebody on CG the other day that I never heard of with our t-shirt on. Halfway through the match he changed it though. I think it's pretty humorous to see the final scores of a tournament with all our names with out t-shirts in the top spots.
Hey Jarg I think it's a great idea to set up a page with all the old SRA members. I would even be willing to create personalized pics from screen caps and peoples personal photos. I did a real quick one of myself a while ago that schwantz has on his site. Let me know if anyone is interested in gettin' photoshopped into UT.

Hehe, I like that question Scify and Blondhottie have been asking. -Tell them the answer can be found by pressing F2, and going to the forum. I always try to steer newbies here, but I don't know how many go to Schwantz central, and then carry on to find their way here.

I wonder about this clan stuff sometimes. When you say that clanners protect each other, do you mean that they stick together and cooperate, even on a deathmatch server rather than playing as individuals? Capture The Flag or Domination I can understand, but on deathmatch? It brings to mind that time I had to ask Herm to activate "weapons stay" on CG3 because of a group of 3 spanish speaking persons who came in one night and made it their business to scoop up all the weapons so that their independently playing opponents had nothing but the default pistol and jack hammer to fight with. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:">

But speaking of picking up weapons........ how would everyone feel about playing the version of redeemer arena that Schwantz used to run? You know, the one where you started out with 25 redeemer missiles, and had to pick up more as you went along. I always found that version funny when you ran out of ammo and had to leave your hitherto undiscovered hiding place.

"Clan": from the Gaelic "clann," meaning family or offspring. But if you grew up in the United States, you know that this word has other associations.

"T-Shirt": n. Orig. US. Also teeshirt. E20. [f. T, T + SHIRT n.] A light short-sleeved casual garment, usu. of cotton with a round neck and no buttons, which forms a T-shape when spread out flat.

---------------------------------------------------------
Excerpted from Oxford Dictionary

<SRA>/v/ahatma

Hey Jarg

Do you have enough space to put up a Clan page, and keep the strategy page, and maybe throw up a funny action shot gallery. Maybe you and Torp shd combine forces (webspace), and get NM to do the Adobe work...

<SRA>/v/ahatma

Not a chance of having that much room. I think I only have 5 megs on my account... but... There are places on the net that you can get a lot more. Why, I think Schwantz has 50 Megs for his site. Hmm. I can create a page there, and with 50 megs, have plenty of room. If possible, give out admin privledges to certain folks to be able to post up interesting tidbits.... This could work. Turn it into a Redeemer Super Site. Hmmm....

Just one thing... If you have created a website, you know that it takes a lot of time to maintain and update. During the springtime, I have very little time. I will be happy to do this, but it may take some time.
{SRA} The Jargonaut

Edited by: Jargonaut at: 3/25/03 3:29:53 pm
