God knows if it's intentional or not with Dell. Their prices bounce around so much it's impossible to keep track. I had a severe case of buyer's remorse a couple of weeks ago, when they apparently lowered the price of the 8250 by a hundred bucks for the duration of a promotion. That with the other savings offered meant I could have saved $292 if I had waited to buy until then.
Now the base price seems to have gone back up again to a new height, and the best deal this week is on a 4550.

I sent Dell Canada an email 2 weeks ago asking them why it was $270 to upgrade to a Radeon 9700 TX on the model 4550, but only $200 to upgrade to the same card on an 8250. I also complained about being forced to buy an entire system online now. The "no monitor" and "no speakers" options have disappeared.
Needless to say, I did not get a reply from them.

I believe Dell has a policy in which if within 30 days the price falls on the exact same spec'd computer, you can request a refund for the the difference. You have to call on the phone, not email.

I would definitely do it, if you can.

M
