I've added a little something to the bottom of the redeemer 101 page. If anyone else would like me to do there set up as well just send me a pic with what keys perform which function. if we can get a couple different types of set ups it might be kinda cool and may actually illuminate some Newbs. Or not. http://www.redeemerinsanity.com/tricks.html |

Hmm, that's interesting, Bigi. I have never see that one. I am a child of the Nintendo-Sega era, so I use the arrow keys. Jump is the right control button Crouch is the decimal on the keypad Speak is the button right beside control (I have no idea what it is called.. File key perhaps...) When I was running D3D, I used to accidentally hit the Windows key, which would crash the game... Thank goodness for Open GL! |

I am a pretty good touch typist, so it feels more comfortable having the left had in its proper position...faster for me. My friend who got me into the game plays with the arrow keypad...I would have to move my keyboard to feel comfortable like that. |

Hey Jarg, does that mean you use the mouse in your left hand? I'm the only one that I know so far that does that. I use the arrow keys in the right, and aim with the left. |

I have pretty much the same physical setup as you Max but I use the dpad on the N50. The up/down arrows are jump/crouch and right/left are next/previous weaps. I also have a drop relic hotkey. That is handy on servers that still use relics. Last but not least the translocator. I have a hotkey setup to switch to the translocator. Not wanting to leave well enough alone I have a second translocator hotkey. It automatically brings out the translocator, and while holding the button down it sends out a beacon. Let go of the button and you automatically transport. This is a special one and involves either editing user.ini or entering preferences at the console. I'll show the user.ini method. 1.) Open user.ini in Notepad. 2.) Scroll down to the aliases and add the following line to the next available alias: Aliases[25]=(Command="GetWeapon BotPack.Translocator | Fire | OnRelease AltFire",Alias=TransJump) If the Alias wasn't used it will show this: Aliases[25]=(Command="",Alias=None) My next available alias was Aliases[25] yours may be different. 3.) Not done yet. You still have to assign that alias to a key. Scroll down in User.ini till you find an available key. I used the enter key. Enter=Transjump If the key isn't used it will show the key followed by the =. Like this: Enter= 4.) Save and close user.ini I have this hotkey on my middle mouse button. |

Nope. Right hand mouse, left hand keys. That sounds odd, are you a lefty? Iceman, That sounds pretty cool. I think I will give it a try. Thanks |

Oh sure Iceman. Like Jarg needed a reason to be even quicker with the Translocator. I thought I was the only one that used the Nostromo. I remember Bo telling me he used it at one time but found it caused some conflicts for him and never really worked right. I find it interesting that you use the directional pad. I actually never used it. i felt it was a little awkward. I guess it all depends on hand size (Insert size/penis jokes here). Hey Bigi the thing on the left is called a Nostromo Speedpad n50. I found myself destroying the arrow keys on my keyboard so i picked this thing up. Really works well and you don't have to search your key board for the keys you have bound to certain functions. Higly recommend it. Ok Mah your the only person who uses your mouse with the left hand. Yet another reason to think your a mutant. I'm probably goig to do 2 or 3 setups with a keyboard and regular mouse. Now where the hell did I put that ugly beige keyboard? Do you guys all use regular mice or do some of you use a trackball with the keyboard? |

No I'm not a lefty. But my right forearm is over-developed, so it can't finesse the mouse, as it were. |

OK, get ready for this.. tab key - translocator caps lock - best weapon left shift - crouch space bar - jump w - forward s - backward a - strafe left d - strafe right q - impact hammer z - toss relic (or is this feign death?) x - feign death (or is this toss relic?) e - minigun c - sniper rifle r - team say f - previous weapon v - speech menu t - talk g - the infamous 'got it' b - 'enemy flag carrier is here' y - an undisclosed custom message h - 'hold this position' n - 'defend' u - 'under attack' j - forget what this is m - 'cover me' i - 'incoming' k - 'attack' , - 'roger that' o - 'somebody get our flag back' l - forget what this is . - 'on my way' p - 'objective destroyed' insert - 'i'm hit' (or is this 'i've got your back'?) delete - 'i've got your back' (or is this 'i'm hit'?) home - xmaps menu end - 'boom' page up - 'oh yeah' ('you like that' when playing as Arashi) page down - 'ha ha ha' ('i'm sorry, did i blow your head apart' when playing as Arashi) gray minus (at upper right of keyboard) - mapvote there is another set of key mappings on the right side of the keyboard which I used a very long time ago, centered around the arrow keys. mouse - Logitech 3-button mouse (not optical) left button - fire right button - alt-fire middle button - jump, then fire mouselook is on my thinking for re-mapping my keys is that why crunch yourself to the right side when you have all those keys to your left? in the past, I've been known to use the mouse in both hands when setting up two machines concurrently, though when gaming, mouse is always in my right hand. - clemmentine ( Maiden_Arashi / clem|IAmKamui! ) |
