For my own amusement I tried to set up the old heap as a server tonight. I just looked at the tabs and set up everything the way I thought it should be. I checked the "advertise" check box. I typed up a message of the day. I chose the new redeemer mutator. I selected the maps I wanted in the rotation. I clicked on "dedicated" when I was done. The game crashed. I restarted and tried the "start" button. But that included me in the game with a ping of zero. So I tried "dedicated" again. It ran this time, and I got an icon in the sys tray. I right clicked on that, and saw the server log and other stuff. I fired up the new heap, but I did not see my server in the list under deathmatch. I refreshed and it was still not there.
Before I gave up and shut it down, I had a look at the server log. I saw a bunch of lines in there saying "WARNING could not load ..... such and such" a bunch of times.

There was some talk at the old forum about a web site that told people how to set up a server. I sure could use a link.

One question: Will all those stupid skins and voice packs I put into the game on the old heap be included in the server? If so, I'll have to do a fresh install. There's just too much of that crap in there.

I was planning to make a server where newbies could play in all large maps. The one's that are boring to the regulars. :razz:
So that they could get their feet wet, as it were, without going into too many deathloops. :wink:

I'll try to find a good link for you too Nameless. I was writing up how to do it but got side tracked badly. i still have much work to do on it too.
