Heres a Open GL mod for NVidia's "Dawn" Demo.

It is simply remarkable!

From muscle movement under the skin to unbelievable virtual Hair.

Check it out ATI lovers!

Did I understand the article correctly, that in spite of the nature of the "OpenGL wrapper", the demo still ran better on the ATI's than NVidias own best hardware? :?:

Aw crap...... it WILL NOT run. I put the OpenGL dll file in the bin as instructed, but the demo will not run. Neither Dawn, nor Dawn ultra. :? :(

Is this dll file only for the 9800? I've got the 9700 Pro. :?:

Mine ran. It was really cool. I also have a 9700 Pro. The textures are AMAZING!!

*EDIT*
I changed the res to 1280 x 1024.. WOW, A closeup of her skin is so realistic, it is scary. Imperfections and all. Very nice.

Hey Jarg, which driver version are you running?
(I've never updated mine, as I usually take the attitude of "don't fix it if it ain't broke".)

Catylist 3.4

2D version 6.14.10.6343
Packaging Version 7.88-030430m-008946C

These are the latest drivers from ATI. If you are running Win XP, get the drivers HERE.
Get those drivers and enjoy!

I contacted ATI and asked them which would be the better drivers to run in my OEM Dell installation. They said to go with the Dell posted drivers, although I could use the ones you referred to if I wished. I decided to play it safe and use the Dell drivers. I also updated DirectX to version 9a.

Before the upgrades I got the message that Dawn had a problem and needed to shut down. NOW I am told that I need an NVidia GeForce FX class GPU or better to run the program. Unsupported features, ARB_Multisample. :?

I thought putting that OpenGL.dll file into the bin folder was supposed to enable this program to run? :( :(

Dude, I have a Dell. I use the reference ATI drivers, and have no problems. Dell is pretty conservative with their drivers. As a matter of fact, I don't think a single driver on my system is stock Dell. The only reason to use the Dell drivers for tech help from them, but also remember that you can always roll back your drivers in Win XP. Try downloading the drivers and control panel from ATI. The software is pretty solid, and you can always go back to the Dell drivers when you want.

Oh yeah.
Polygonal porn!
Funny thing is... When she dances, I feel the need to get a dollar out of my wallet...
They should change the music playing to something a little more appropriate.
