Just read an article today and took a couple snippets out of it that I thought were interesting.
Quote:
Gates, co-founder and chairman of Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq:MSFT - news), and Otellini, chief executive of microchip maker Intel Corp. (Nasdaq:INTC - news), wrote in an opinion piece in Monday's Wall Street Journal that the personal computer is entering a new era, becoming the hub for a variety of digital devices.
Uh this happened years ago on the Mac side of the fence but I guess no one told Bill & Company. Another instance of Mr. Gates thinking ahead.
Quote:
skeptics saying the growing popularity of devices such as Apple Computer Inc.'s (Nasdaq:AAPL - news) iPod music player, digital cameras and video recorders could make the traditional home computer obsolete.
The only way a computer can be obsolete is if that computer doesn't work with those devices. (i.e. windows machines.) I guess that makes a mac a non traditional computer. Yeah Apple.

Gates and Otellini said that, last year, laptop computers based on Intel's Centrino mobile processors and Microsoft's Windows XP operating system outsold the popular iPod.
Uh and this year philips sold more light bulbs then goodyear sold tires. Your point being. Remember that Apples & Oranges thing.
