It will be interesting to see how well the new intel MACs will do in the long run. They are saying 4x faster on laptops and 2x faster on the little iMAC so who knows. Maybe with the new processor they will actually start producing alot more software for Apple now like ohhh better games possibly? *shurg* Who knows......only time will tell if Apple actually made the right move or not.

If this helps Apple move from boutique to mainstream, then yes, I will be happy.
If this lowers the price of an Apple PC, then yes, I will be happy.
If this puts a dent in Bill Gates' domination, then yes, I will be happy.

If none of the above happen, then I will be indifferent.
I just do not see Apple NOT being successful with this move. You tell the average computer buyer that it has Intel Inside, a better, easier OS, and is vastly safer than Windows....
Heck, I am sold even now.

If you have Apple stock, then this is a good thing to watch.
The keynote speech from Steve Jobs at Macworld.
To put it in as few words as possible, Apple had a good holiday quarter.

I bet they did. I bought another $500+ worth of Mac stuff over the holiday. I think Apple will eventually swing way over to the multimedia contracts with big name business like Sony etc etc.

Mac has long had a clean, precision type, better than everyone else stigma about them and it is well earned. Everyone who aligns themselves with Mac especially in the multimedia sector are bound to be more successful. If Mac can pick up even only .5% of revenue from partnerships with present and future endeavors, then they will grow and grow.

The first time I thought they might go this direction was when I saw them make special concessions with Volkswagen Bugs. I thought it was great idea and have been shocked to not see them press forward further. They will now I bet. When you consider some of the terrible mistakes Mac has made in the past and see how well they have still done, you can only imagine what is possible when they go in the right direction. Multimedia partnerships is the right direction and only one of many that MAC can take! Later.

I saw an Apple G5 for the first time "in the flesh" at Best Buy today. I was surprised at how much larger it is than the usual PC box. It was only $2225 or there abouts. I was wondering if the prices are falling fast on the old Macs already, or if it's a stripped unit. Those huge metal beasts were well over $4000 this time last year, up here. (Well, configured the way I wanted one they were, at least! :cyclopsani: )

For those who couldn't sit through the Keynote (I watch it religiously every year) you may have missed the new TV spot. Got quite a chuckle out of it.
