Spybot Search & Destroy is a handy program for detecting spyware. It also has a blocking feature that you can enable by "immunizing" your system against "bad products" as they call them.

Tonight I checked for updates again, as I do every day. I found one this time, and after installing it I checked the "immunize" feature, to see if there were any new "bad products" to be blocked. There were something like 1067 new 'bad products' that needed blocking.
Over 1000! :blackeye: :protest:

Bloody hell! :angry7:

If it wasn't so sad there was so much of that crap out there it would kinda be funny. Thanks for the heads up on the update it is rare for them to update.

I've been useing Microsoft AntiSpyware (FREE). Has all the good stuff and auto updates every 3 or 4 days. It's worked great for me so far.

Thanks for the link Mickey. I've been meaning to go and get that for a while now.
Lol I had to come back to this thread in IE, as Firefox wouldn't let me get anywhere when I tried to d/l the program through it. :laughing5:

Spybot usually only updates about once a month, but as I said in the other thread, they've been responding nicely to the increasing threat out there. Last night's update was the third one I've found this month so far. That's why I was so shocked to find 1067 new "bad products" to be blocked. I was staying on top of the udates, and still there were a totally unprecedented number of new bad products to be protected against in only one update. :angry3:

Sup Yall,

The Microsoft Anti-Spyware isa nice program if you have to use windows. Also Spybot Search & Destroy, AdAware, and Spyware Blaster. Check out http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ for a free online virus scan and http://spywareguide.com/txt_onlinescan.html for a spyware scan. Both need IE because they use active x controls.
