Today, the remnants of tropical storm Cindy came through the Carolina's with a big impact. I have always wanted to see a funnel cloud (from a distance) and finally got that opportunity today at work. It passed close to my office, and from what I understand, touched down briefly. Very scary, but at the same time exciting. The largest impact was the rains. Next, we have Dennis to contend with. |

Today marks our 35 day of 90 degree weather. I got a shower today and a few days ago for time in several weeks. The ground is already dusty again though. We are finally supposed to get some real rain next week when Dennis hits somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico. I and everyone around me can't wait for some good rain. My grass cracks underfoot as I walk across it. My house's air-conditioning is dying a long hot dry death too. |

It's pissing like a racehorse here! Time to grow gills again. Morty, In my part of the country it would have been more "like a cow pissing on a flat rock" This has been the nicest June and July (temperature) I can ever remember. And the part of this area that I live is notorious for being one of the hottest it would be old hat to have half a dozen days in the triple digits in each of those months and think nothing of it. Every time I start considering about where to retire (some where in the Tennessee area there abouts, you guys/gals start having the trailer park vacuums making me reconsider. Here we just have earth quakes, everyday, the even list them in the weather section showing all the quakes in the past 24 hours. Deaths via earth quakes Vs deaths via twisters I'll take the quakes any ol day. Wish you all were enjoying this same weather pattern there. Later all, Skank |
