I found a site that I will give a link to in a minute. It offers a free demo of the UT GOTY edition. There is software built into it that will only allow you to play it 5 times. Keep reading.

Here is the kicker! If you run the free copy of the 436 NoDelta patch on it, it will make the trial part disappear completely, thus you have a free copy of UT GOTY!

It didn't offer all the resolution options like the original but I found that if I used a free OpenGL renderer that I also found that problem is solved too meaning a totally free and perfectly good running copy of UT GOTY!!!

This means that you can be anywhere in the world on some pc at a friend of yours house and be able to install the game to their computer and get your UT fix!.

Basically, this is still illegal I'm sure but with it getting harder and harder to buy a legit copy of UT, this is a nice option to have. Even I bought the game originally just to have disk 1 crack about one year later. I had never made a backup of it so I could not install it till I borrowed a disk from a friend.

Please note that this doesn't install like original UT does. It will not give you an option to install it to a particular place. Instead, It will put it where UT would normally install to by default which is c:\UnrealTournament. If you already have a copy installed there, this will overwrite it.

Here is the link to the free download:

Here is the link to the patch you need to make the trial part of the software go away:

Here is the link to file you need to copy and overwrite your original one with in your c:\UnrealTournament System folder so that you can use OpenGL to have all of the resolution options available to you. There is more to it then that and I'll explain it in more detail later. Here is the link:

Lastly, here is a link to the texture files from the #2 cd that you get with the retail copy of UT. Installing these will make the game look better but there are additional steps that are required in order to make them work so don't install them unless you are willing to go to www.hermskii.com and read how to use these extra big textures from my manual I offer at my website. Here is the link to the #2 UT CD:
