Isn't UT copy protected? You may have to use a program that can break that. Not sure here, just a thought. |

Copy protection? What the hell is that :?: Let me check a few things on Nero (my favorite burning software). Will post in a bit. Ciao, Skank |

Hey *DeeZ*BaTTLe 1, I started with Nero but it looked like it was acting funny. Maybe it was maybe it wasn't. Any ways it got me off the stick to install and test some software I've hade for a long time "Game X Copy". Looks like it worked pretty good. The cd self booted and wanted to install, but I cancelled as I didn't wan't to suffer through all the downloads and up dates to get back to current. The company "321" that made "Game X Copy" is bankrupt so I don't know if any of the intellectual property laws apply or not. the zip file is less than 9 megs. To big to mail small enough to file transfer through AIM or down load from one of the P2P sources. Ciao, Skank  |

1. Back Up your ENTIRE PC Game collection! GAMESXCOPY lets you make a PERFECT back up copy of virtually any PC Game. GAMESXCOPY is a powerful utility and all you need is a PC with either a CD or a DVD burner. No more threat of losing a game due to theft, scratches, skipping, freezing or other media imperfections. Your copy works just like the original; your entire collection can be archived and your investment protected. Either use a blank disc or write the entire game to your hard disc drive. Imagine the possibilities of playing a game without needing the original disc. 2. How GAMESXCOPY works: GAMESXCOPY does not change any of the original game content. GAMESXCOPY creates an exact image of your PC game. GAMESXCOPY then uses exclusive AUTO-BURN technology to transfer the image onto a CD or DVD. Once backed up, you can store your original PC game safe on the shelf and then either play your game from your hard drive or from the backup disc. 3. Work with all popular blank media or just use your PC’s hard disc drive: GAMESXCOPY works with CD-R, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD-RAM, DVD+RW and DVD+R media. It can also be used with different types of CD/DVD burners such as CD-RW, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM in IDE, SCSI, USB and IEEE1394. GAMESXCOPY is designed to work with current and future technology. 4. Lifetime Updates "I doubt this as they went bankrupt" Compare to the competition! Technology changes and only GAMESXCOPY protects both your PC Game collection and the rights to future game announcements by providing you with free lifetime upgrades to the software. 5. Novice and Expert Modes GAMESXCOPY is simple, yet powerful to use. Children and busy adults appreciate the automatic features of the Novice mode. Expert gamers love the ability to customize the experience or create virtual drives. 6. Bonus Features GAMESXCOPY can even back up music and video CDs or DVDs directly from the originals. You can use the hard drive instead of the disc by creating a virtual drive that can be loaded with game images allowing several discs to appear to be loaded at one time. Use the virtual image now and burn a new CD or DVD later. Additional Information: Have read that it will also back up PS2 and XBox. But I doubt it will copy xbox game as they are not readable in pc-dvd drivers. Enjoy, Skank  |

Hey DeeZ*BaTTLe 1 I've used nero (5) to copy UT ( several times ). DON'T copy the file to your HD! Do a direct CD Copy and it will work fine. The install routine loads the program by reading specific tracks and sectors not by useing file names so the copy HAS TO BE a exact copy of the original. If you copy to the HD first you end up "reordering" all the tracks and sectors and the install will fail. Hope this helps. |

The trick (which isn't much of a trick) is to create an image of the file onto the hardrive, then brun the image back to the cd/dvd. Like I said when attempting this with Nero it appeared to be working funny. Couls have juct been my take on how things were going. I love Nero but when it fails I drop back and give Alcohol 120% a shot. The copy created with Games X-Copy worked perfectly on my sons computer last night. Ciao, Skank |
