Hi Chef,
I experienced that before. It was so bad I was about to throw in the towel and get a new 'puter or at least a vid card. I asked for help here too. Theone pointed me to http://www.webuser.co.uk/ I received help in less than 48 hours after posting the problem at their forum. Give em a try and good luck buddy.

By chance are you running on-board sound card off the motherboard or and actual sound card? Reason I ask is once apon a time I had a stutter problem real bad out of my system. I was using the on-board sound on the motherboard and for some reason playing single or online the game would stutter like it was lagging something bad. Went out and picked up a cheap 16bit soundblaster and POOF! the problem went away. Recently picked up a newer motherboard that had 5.1 onboard and I'll be damn if it didn't do the same thing as the other one until I installed my sound card. *SHURG* Can't figure that one out. You can rule this out pretty quick if you disable the on-board sound in the bios and reboot. Boot up UT and give it a try........no stutter then you figured out the problem.

Something else you might want to look into is what video driver you using chef? They have updated the catalyst drivers a few times so you might want to take a look there.

Yea I got on that time , the guy suggested it might be the Direct X ver.9.0c that I got the other day :( bummer its hard to remove them ,but I'm gonna try to get it off of there and go back to 9.0b or 9.0a instead.

EDIT: I used system Restore and it LOOKS! like its back to an older version of Direct X now ,I tried playing a game on viridian with 8 bots and the game speed cranked to 150% !! and it worked just fine ... Soooooooo , I woild say stay away from Direct X version 9.0c unless you want trouble!!

Thanks ,

IC
