Hi was just wondering what speed you all had after reading on another forum about speeds and cost around the world i think the uk has the edge on being at the bottom for this .
Mines just been increased free of charge tho to a big 300k d/l for just £18 month ( $32.87us / $43.24can). I believe in the uk we have a max of 2.5 meg connection for domestic use never seen higher speeds yet.

I'm paying $29.95 Canadian per month (plus GST) for "High Speed Internet Light" which is capped at 150 Kbps up and down. ;)

For $44.95 per month + 7% GST I can have "High Speed Internet Standard" which maxes out @ 5 Mbps down, and 640 Kbps up.

For $69.95 + 7% GST I can have "High Speed Internet Pro" which gives you up to 10 Mbps down, and up to 1 Mbps up.

Tonight broadband reports says my results are 1979/333, which happens once in a while. Usually I get more like 2034/234 or thereabouts. 8)

I use Time Warner High Speed Internet with a cable modem.
I pay $39.00/month last time I checked.

Here is my latest speed test results:

2004-08-05 20:03:12 EST: 2804 / 356
Your download speed : 2872181 bps, or 2804 kbps.
A 350.6 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 364777 bps, or 356 kbps.

In short, that's 2804 down and 356 up. I like it.

I use www.DSLREPORTS.com

I have used them for a few years and I feel they are by far the most accurate. From their home page look on the left panel and select "Tools". From the "Tools" page select "Speed Test". From that page select a test center. I alsways use the top one listed that is in California somewhere. You must have an updated version of some type of JAVA engine to be able to run the test. They offer a free downlaod from the test center page. I love that it actually test uploads too. It is free but you only get to run 3 test over a 24hr period. Then you get locked out for a day. Enjoy!

JEEEZ your download speeds are incredible! That is cable broadband?! Do you ever experience slowdowns in the evenings when everyone logs on?

DSLREports is a great site. One of the first to also show users how to perform speed tweaks for RWIN and MTU.
