I am really addicted to City of Heroes. It has consumed most of my free time. Remember me telling you about my character, SlobberKnocker? He is called a Tanker. He takes a LOT of abuse, but dishes it out too. He is now a Captain of the supergroup, The Army of the Black Sun. I know how you all feel about paying for playing games, but this one is a blast, especially for those of you that like to explore maps in UT and UT2K4. That is what this game is about. Exploring and finding the bad guys. It is also much more friendly to chat in than UT. The game is getting ready to launch it's first update. Here is a sneak peek.

If it helps, the first month is free.... I wished that the game was, so that you could try it for yourself. I know that most of you would love it.
No, I am not being paid by the publisher. I just want to let you folks in on a good game.

One question. If the game were free, would you try it for your free month?

BTW, I still get on the servers from time to time. Look for Just A Regular Guy or Knockout.

Is this the Everquest-like game where you spend time building characters?

I think my brother is addicted to this game also. Haven't seen him in a couple weeks ...

Yes, but it is nothing like EQ except that it is a MMORPG. It is addictive. You become obsessed with leveling up your character to see the new powers that they can wield.

I can totally relate about these types of games. Buddy of mine talked me into trying out Everquest back in December and needless to say this game has eatten alot of free time in the evenings. For the first few months it was play play play play play sleep, go to work, play play play. But after a few weeks of trying to run on 3-4 hours of sleep a night I had to change my EQ habits. Now I usually just play for about an hour to hour and a half a night if I even play.

From the stuff I've seen about this game and a few reviews it seems like it is alot simpler to get into this game which sounds like a plus for somebody that has never tried out a MMORPG. There is so much to EQ that after 6 months I haven't even scratched the surface. I've seen maybe 10% of the game if that. Sat down one night and went thru some maps of the zones and all I could do was shake my head at the amount of places you could go and stuff you could get into.

Anyways if I wasn't playing EQ this City of Heros game sure does sound like it would be pretty kewl to try out. Glad your enjoying yourself Jag and if anybody else around here plays EQ...my characters are on the E'ci server.
