Lets try to get more than three people on a yahoo voice line while playing UT2K4. I'm pretty sure there can be more than two people but I've never tried it. I'd like to try tonight around 9:00 PM central but I'm not sure that I'll even be here at that time. If I am, I'll be on Jarg's or Schwantz's server. I'm guessing the boss may have turned down his bots as I actually managed to kill the same one twice in one game yesterday but that is still too hard. I'm getting older and lazy. Who saw "Kill Bill"? Did you like it? Did you see part 2? What did you think? Don't ruin the story and tell us about it.

Finally got around to watching part one on DVD. Actually liked it alot. Kinda jumps around in the story like in Pulp Fiction. Very reminiscent of those old Chinese Kung-Fu movies. Looking forward to seeing part 2.

Agreed! I too liked it very much. Lots of fighting and the story line is well................it's a story line. I want part two bad but I may wait till it comes out on video. Same with part three. When part 4 comes out, I'll rent 2 and 3 and then go see four in the threater all in the same week. By then, I bet all 4 will fit on a dvd too.

Dang I think I've missed you. I used one of your suggested zip codes Herm, it worked. My Yahoo name is aNamelessEntity.
I tried adding yours into my 'friends' list, but I need a "group" for you, whatever that means. :?:

Ok Nameless, I added you to my friends group. It accepted and sent you a request to add me to your book and to make your icon visible to me when you are using yahoo. Now we can actually talk full duplex during games!

I'm up for it. When shall we try. The server does not matter, but on mine, it will not be quite the same because of my distance from the server (about two feet). Is anyone busy tomorrow night (Friday)?
sigh... I sure am not :?

Seems there is a feature in Yahoo called conference which allows you to request others to join a voice chat. In a test I ran earlier today with my nephew, it was determined that it doesn't run in full duplex as I thought but still works a ton better than every other voice system I've seen and if you do talk while someone else is talking, even though they didn't hear you, you can still hear others talking while you talk so you don't miss anything at least. IT UT2K4, when you talk, everything goes dead silent until you let go of the button. I hate that. Yahoo also has a hands free option so the mic is voice activated. Sweet.

have you guyz used battlecom....or teamspeak...if you are interested in chatting while playing, I think these are the best. I have a teamspeak server and a battlecom server installed and ready to run, use them on when playing america's army and used to use battle com for ut with some friends.

http://www.teamspeak.org/

http://www.battlecom.org/pub/free/bfc_client_v132.exe

If you are running a server, you could boot up the teamspeak or BC server full time with the UT server, and users just have to add the IP to their favorites list....or just connect

or one person can just run a fulltime server, and all SRA can just jump on anytime.

also, if you have the server listed on your quick connects, I think you can click it to see who is on...not sure about battlecom but think it is the same, haven't used it in a while.

So, tonight I was finally able to speak to our Nameless Map Pioneer. Yes, tonight Glider managed to get on Yahoo. I am positive he is neither Faceless or a a Lady. In case you didn't catch it, I managed to use every alias he has in the first few sentances. That would impossible with Clementine! LOL. Nameless it is good to associate your voice to your name. Someone needs to go back into the forum and find the picture thread so our new folks can see what we all look like. Maybe they will want to contribute too! So now I have actually spoken to Blonde Hottie, Nameless Entity, Jargonaut, Pimpdude, Jester, Scify, Hermskii Jr., Slayed, Hans, Mick and right off hand I can think of no more. Drinking beer does that I guess. Well anyways, it's been a pleasure to get to speak with each of you. AGAIN, I'm sorry that I don't have a Texan accent!!! Later all!

First off I have to say it was a blast bumping into Herm, Mah, Hottie, Chef and there was one more.....can't think of who off the top of my head but that was the most fun I have had in a good long while playing the good ole UT. After a year and a half of running the same install of UT on my player machine I finally gave her a facelift. Part of the reason I kept dropping from time to time (stupid downloading maps) LOL.

Anyways back on to the subject at hand. I've been reading the threads about this voice chat stuff with yahoo and after Herm said something about it last night I figured I better ask a question or two and see what all is needed to get this working.

A download of the messenger itself is a duh but my question lies in the realm of speaker/headphones. What is everybody using out there?........USB or plug into audio card?.........Brand names?.......quality/price?

Sorry for so many questions but this is one piece of hardware I have never really messed and wanted to see what everybody else had out there and what the pros/cons for the units might be.

This voice stuff sounds like it would be pretty darn interesting to say the least. With 2k4 having all these team type games this voice stuff would definately change the playing field a bit.
