Post subject:  The CG Project

I haven't done squat with CG in several months months now other than move the actual computer form house to house and room to room. All the maps have been the same and I haven't tried to tweak anything either for a long time now.

That is all going to change in a little over a month but hopefully it will be near invisible toy you when I do it. I've gone through hundreds of maps in the last several months testing for Redeemer compatability and such and have come up with a list of about 350 maps I like. I want to cut it down to about 150 total. At that point, I'll separate them into three different packs of maps. I launch the new server from a batch file so if it crashes, it will come back up by itself, that way I don't need to check it daily. After some given amount of time, I'll cycle out the first 50 for the next set and continue this till they all go through. Then I'll grab the top 25 maps from each set and bind them into a pack and use it for now on. total of 75 maps.

CG will be in the garage and should not choke again and be maintenance free basically which is where I've been aiming to go for years. I will finish my little book of helpful hints and manuals for setting up a server not the best way but the only way I know how too and put all this on my website for your downloading pleasure. I suspect then that I will have a child on the way and you won't see much of me from then on. I will have a second server too which with Schwantz's blessing, I will name "schwantz's Redeemer Arena" It will be the final master piece but will be very simple in that it will only have the basic maps etc. I suspect that it will be the busiest server I've ever run and it will have a UPS that the hard wired router will be connected to and it too will be run under XP so I'll have the most stable system Windows can offer. (FAH, insert comment here or cut for quote at later post time).

Sorry CG has been off line so much lately but it has been because of moving, and house problems etc. The server itself is working great. My life is busy right now trying to have a baby with my wife and job changes and debt reduction etc. This is still just my hobby but as Max pointed out, others things are more important and are taking priority. Face it, playing redeemer Arenas are fun but would you rather try to make babies?!!! Peace all and I hope my solution will keep a redeemer arena on line all the time for all of our very sick friends here! Later

Sounds good to me, Herm. I can't wait to try out some new maps.
How's the wife doing?
