I came across this cartoon about 5-6 years ago. It took me a little while to get hooked but I was hooked bad. I waaited years for them to translate the DragonBallZ saga to english. If you actually watch enough of them in a row, you will get addicted.

Dragon Ball is a 3 stage cartoon that started back in the early 80's about and has since produced about 300 episodes and about 13 movies. Dragon Ball is based on a book about a monkey boy in Japan. It's a regular boy but he has a monket tell and great strength. That goes for almost 100 epidsodes. Then the saga changes to Dragon Ball Z where Goku is now grown and with the other Z fighters, saves the world from all sorts of bad stuff. It is the saga that I enjoy the most. After a couple 100 episodes of it, it changes to Dragon Ball GT which is everything after the lost of the mini sagas from Dragon Ball Z. They have really translated many of these and it went too far off the edge for me to stay interested.

As children, we all had heros we wanted to be like Superman Batman etc. As an adult, I'd have to be Goku. It's a story about determination and self inner strength enabling a person to "Power UP" based on how much they practiced, got mad, were determined to reach strengths and capabilities matching and exceeding those of typical super heroes. There is a lot of crazy stupid stuff in many of the episodes but there is a lot of good lessons in several of them also and Goku really just wants everyone to get along. I sure miss DBZ
